4 of 5 The Little Ant That Could Monday, March 31, 2008 A Customer from NJ
I have a very picky phone (AT&T 8525) and I did quite a few research until I landed on this bluetooth device. I wasn't completely sold on this thing until I received it and started to use it. The build quality is not bad and the sound quality is alright, but I was able to hear until noisy conditions. I have my phone is my pocket so the range is no more than 4 feet. The standby time is excellent and I love the lights out option (no one even know I have the thing on). Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Worthwhile headset Friday, March 28, 2008 Jordan from Belows Falls, VT
This is my first time with a bluetooth headset and I've been using this model for 6 months. It was able to easily sync with my treo and the connection quality is quite good. It has RANGE and can keep up a conversation even if I wander 30ish feet away. Comfort is goood as it includes a variety of ear adapters and the over the ear scoop is easy to wear. Nice and small means that it's nice and light. Volume controls are straightforward and simple to operate while wearing. Answering is easy with a tap of the central button.
The only drawback I can find is that the power adapter is a little flakey in it's connection to the USB based charger. This could be a quirk of my particular headset and I have to say in BlueAnt's defense that I've not asked them to fix it. It hasn't been that big a deal. With the 3 year included warranty I feel comfortable aging the problem some more.
I can say I'm happy with my choice and wouldn't have a problem recommending it. Was this review helpful?

Short range, cannot get very far from phone without beeping indicating out-of-range. In today's world of standard usb chargers and ports, why on earth does this require a special charger not using a standard usb port. Dumb. Ear piece not very comfortable.
Spend a little more and buy a headset that fits with more comfortable ear buds and a proper usb connector/charger. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simple, quality headset Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Berkeley, CA
Small, inexpensive headset with good voice quality and battery life. Easy to set up.
My only preference would have been if the headset charged via mini-usb instead of the one that it uses, which is proprietary. Means that when you travel you have to bring an additional charging cable. But they do provide car, AC, and USB chargers.

5 of 5 The best Bluetooth Headset as yet Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
This headset worked flawlessly right out of the box, very easy to use, clear sound, great at 20 feet, setup is a breeze. This is way better than any Jabra, Motorola, Plantronics or any of the others out there. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to buy a headset that works first time and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to set one up. Good Job BlueAnt. Already bought 2 of these. It comes with a USB charger, cig light charger and wall charger, what more do you want? Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 For the hype, dissapointed Wednesday, November 28, 2007 RSM from Austin, Tx
I had researched sever different BT headsets before I saw this one on special here. Blueant Z3, Jawbone, etc. were on the list but when I saw this on special I googled up for some reviews. Most of them were pretty positive so, purchase.
The headset is really simple to use; very intuitive. However I have had some reception issues with it. I'm not entirely sure that its not external interference, but I was hoping for better performance even with a WI-FI network/ 2.4ghz phone present.
I'm generally pleased with the headset, but disappointed with the clarity of the conversations. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great for price! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Justin from Spartanburg, South Carolina
I have no real complaints about this product. It is small, light, and full of features. I like the 3 charging options. Sometimes the sound crackles a little, but if you adjust the volume a little it clears right up. Overall a great product for the price! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This thing works great and comes with awesome char Thursday, October 25, 2007 A Customer from Olympia, WA
This thing works great right out of the box. The volume gets loud enough (unlike other i have tried).its easy to switch between multiple phones (although just because the way bluetooth works sometimes disconnecting, reconnecting to another phone, and then trying to answer a call can sometimes take too long - and people are sent to voicemail - or you can just answer you phone like normal and then connect the headset).
The only problem I have had is It won't stay in my ears good with out the over-the-ear clip but I think that might just be my ears. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product!!!!! Thursday, October 11, 2007 A Customer from Daphne, Alabama
This is my first bluetooth and I am extremely satisified with its performance. I can hear better with the bluetooth than on the phone and when I tell the receiver of my call that I am using a bluetooth they cannot believe how clear it is. My husband has a motorola bluetooth and it always sounds like he is in a cave when I talk to him and he always complains about having problems with it. I have had my Blue Ant for 2 weeks and it still charged from the initial charging. Since there are so many options for charging I am really not worried when it will need to be charged because it can be done from anywhere I will be. Also, the earpiece is really not that comfortable for me, but I am using it attached to the lanyard provided and just stick it in my ear when I get a call. I really like that feature. I think that for the price it is absolutely worth getting. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Ok for it's price Friday, October 05, 2007 Steve from Orange County, CA
After playing with the headset for a couple of days, I was able to determine the flaws. Maybe it's with my Sumsung A900, but I could only go at most 5 feet before the thing starts beeping (stating out of range) and getting static. Sometimes it will beep and buzz (ready to become static) with the phone on my belt. It's very annoying when you're trying to talk or listen. Earpiece is suppose to be one size fit all, but it's fairly large. It fits in my ear (normal size ear), but after awhile, my ear will start to ach. It won't even fit in my wife's ear and I think her ear is large for a woman. I ended up getting her a Plantronic Discovery and she loves it! It has the same features as the this one, but without the flaws and cost only a little bit more. Earpiece has 3 sizes and it's entirely made of silicone "gel" instead of just a "gel" cover over plastic. Plus, it's much lighter. I also wish the A/C charger came as a wire instead of the short, flexible wand. I cannot use the outlet behind my nightstand, but have to plug it in a visible outlet away from my phone where it can be easily forgotten. Blueant did have it packaged at one time, but replaced it with the wand. However, it works great as a car charger. Overall, it's not bad for $40, but I would pay a little more for better quality.
Pro: High volume, small size, multiple connections, sleek design
Con: Short distant before static and warning beep, one size earpiece to large, no option to check battery life Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Awesome Tuesday, September 25, 2007 E Wagner from Brooklyn, NY
This earpiece is just great. Ive tried other bluetooth earpieces with my Treo 700p and have had issues with all except for one and this one. The ability to connect to more than one phone is awesome and the size and weight are great. Ive only had one other good earpiece and that one just died. I use this one now even more than i used my other one because this one is just great and comfortable to wear allllll day. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice Earpiece Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Provo, UT
This lightweight bluetooth earpiece works quite well. As with most earpieces, however, it's not super comfortable, limiting how long I am willing to wear it. I recently switched wireless carriers, and for some reason it has not worked as well with my new phone as it did with the old one (both Motorola Razr phones, but different service providers and some differences in functionality). Not sure yet which is at fault, the phone or the ear piece, but it takes too long to establish a link between the phone and the ear piece. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Bluetooth headset Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Pittsburgh, PA
Pros:
Great value. Can make calls, answer calls with one press of the button (if cellphone is enabled with voice dialing). Sound is clear.
<Br><Br>
Cons:
Inner ear cover is too large for my ear, so that fit isn't the best. This item also comes with an optional ear arm, but it is too flimsy to remain stable. Ear arm difficult to stay on and conflicts with sunglass arm, or even my hair! My old Motorola never had this problem. Was this review helpful?

I purchased the BlueAnt X3 Micro because of its ability to sync with multiple devices (up to 3). I have sync'd mine with my Razr, my wife's Razr and my corporate Blackberry. I can switch between devices with the buttons on the unit. The buttons are a bit small and some functions require two buttons to be pressed at the same time. While I have found this to be a bit difficult when on the ear, it should become easier as I get used to the configuration. The sound quality is good and my phones voice activated dialing features have worked flawlessly, recognizing my requests without any problems. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome! Friday, June 01, 2007 A Customer from Larchmont, NY
I use this with my Samsung A900 phone and it works perfectly. (In contrast, I have heard that Motorola bluetooth headsets have not seemed to work well with this phone.) The headset is actually clearer than using my phone itself, particularly because the volume can be raised higher than that on the phone. I have experienced absolutely no connection problems and no static. I am pleasantly surprised and I highly recommend this item. Was this review helpful?

This little BlueAnt is a great little device. It has a very good range, I leave the phone (Sanyo Katana) inside the kitchen and I can walk all the way to my son's room (about 35 feet) without loosing the connection. It takes some time to get the feeling of the tiny buttons, but now we are used to them. And on a full charge it lasts about 2-3 days. My wife and I love our X3 micro BlueAnt bluetooth headset. 5 of 5 Thumbs Up! Thursday, January 11, 2007 A Customer from Charlotte, NC
I received this from my wife as a birthday gift; since she's the research queen, I'm sure it was a "good deal". As for functionality, I am very satisfied - haven't noticed any static issues and all of my phone conversations have been very clear. The battery life seems to be fine and I love the options that I have for charging it when necessary. Only minor drawback is it is very difficult for me to raise/lower the volume with the device in my ear - this will get easier over time, I'm sure. Was this review helpful?

Great size, great price. Some occasional static, but I imagine that is to be expected with any headset in some locations. My husband got one and I liked it so much I ordered the same kind after reading many reviews on various headsets.
I added a "gel" earpiece from an old Jabra headset and don't even need the X3 micro earpiece...stays securely in ear.

This is a great headset for use in the car.Has good sound quality and no complaints from the other end. One does not have to shout, I only talk in normal levels for great communications. The ear will have some wind noise when outside in 40mph winds, otherwise it's great.Have gotten many compliments as I let others use it in a demo.. Was this review helpful?

Excellent device, great price too, I had a plantronics 645 dsp headset, hated it from the moment a saw the box, ugly presentation, also talking range is about 1 ft pairing problems, short battery life, bad reception well the works. With the bluant x3 micro i can leave my treo 700p on the second floor, and walkdown to the basement and still get decent reception, also pairing was a breeze, I have only had to pair it once, the 645 I had to pair it every time I turned the headset on or off. Also charging is great, the flexible charger that comes with the x3 is great-- Car, wall, and computer charging is available, so great headset great reception and great price, you cant go wrong, trust me. very pleased with fit and feel of ear piece...makes a nice snug fit and you can actually hear even at low volumes, in the car with road noise and outside with wind. Only complaints have come from my wife who says there is a bad echo and she can hear herself talk. I thik this happens when the volume is up all the way or when i had echo control off. I leave that on all the time now and took encryption off and think that helps but not sure. Very pleased overall. Was this review helpful?

I have had my Blue ant for about a month now. It is a very good value and I would buy it again. It was easy to setup and use with my Sony Ericsson Z525a phone, plus since both are the same blue color, they look really good together.
I have had the same problem someone else mentioned about the voice commands not working well. I don't typically use voice commands but I figured I give them a try. I estimate a 50% success with voice commands in a normal environment (some background noice, but not too much). Thus, I don't use them any more.
All in all, I like the headset and it is MUCH better than a my old wired one. Actually the voice quality is better than my old wired ear piece. Finally, I would recommend any wireless headset over a wired one because there is no wire to get in the way anymore. The wire on my previous headset used to get caught on just about everything and either my phone or headset would crash to the ground. I am never using a wired headset again because I haven't dropped my new phone once yet.

The X3 works great with my LG VX8300. Voice quality is good to excellent. I've had a couple instances of static or my callers not hearing me, but they were fixed by hanging up and redialing. Also, the voice command doesn't always work, but I suspect I would find the same problem with other headsets. The multiple charging options are handy (USB, AC and CAR), and i like the flexible charge adapter. Overall, a great product.
I also have a Blueant Supertooth II. Unfortunately, this hasn't worked as well with my VX8300. Some incompatability problems with the voice commands. Was this review helpful?

I'm no bluetooth headset afficianado, but this is nice. Before i bought this, I bought a different headset that i returned b/c i couldn't get it to pare with my blackberrry.
I was pleasently surprised when i opened this...It comes with a semi rigid/flexible usb cable that plugs into your computer, or the supplied car charger, or the supplied wall charger. THat's rad! you can also use these cahrgers to charge your other usb peripherals, a great bonus.
Pewrformance has been good, it's super small and comfortable. It looks pretty good, so if you're one of those tools that walks around with your bluetooth headset on, even when you're not talking (you know who you are!), i guess you'll look extra stylish. Me, i use it when i'm talking on the phone...but it is comfortable and works well. I also think it's a good value, considering all the charging options it comes with.
Buy it, you won't regret it! Was this review helpful?
7 of 7 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 not bad at all Wednesday, August 09, 2006 A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
Hi, all.
I have it for week now and like quality and battery life. Sound is excellent, the volume can go up more then I need (good for noisy environments) and receiving party hears me clear and loud. A lot of charging options. Like it a lot. Great reviews about Blue Ant products in general (made by Australian company) on European market. 2 years warranty and tall free USA support number (though I got a voice mail, not a life person).
but here is few things that you need to be aware of:
1. mute can be engaged from headset by pressing "volume up" and "volume down" simultaneously -- I do not have big hands, but it's already a problem for me, due to headset's design. I need two hands to do it. or you can do it from the phone.
2. the fit is not so comfortable -- it's light and small and it's not falling from my ear, but the hook is not comfortable -- Ericsson and Jabra headsets are way suitable for long wear.
3. the only USB charging cable supplied (it used to plug headset into 12v DC or 110v AC adapters) are proprietery -- it's not avalable on ebay, so if you loose it or want spare for car or work -- it's a hassle to get one. I could not find a same size plug in radio shack.
I do recomend it though as an excellent out of box headset. Oh, never lost a BT connection with the phone -- my prevous Moto H500 and current Logitec Freedom were loosing BT link from time to time on Moto RAZR V3 and Nokia 6131 phones. This headset is not. Was this review helpful?

I just got this headset yesterday and after charging it I made a couple of phone calls in outdoor and indoor enviornments. No complaints from either one. The sound comes across clear for both callers and the comfort of this headset is great too! Doesn't pick up alot of background noise and everything works great. Haven't had a chance to use it on the freeway yet, but I think it'll do just as good. VERY good buy at a great price, compared to others!! Was this review helpful?

I just received my shipment and immediately opened the package. Everything you need is included. I charged it up and then paired it with my Samsung MM-A900. It paired without any problems. I used the device without the ear hook and it fit without feeling loose or tight in my ear.
After a few calls, I was very pleased with how clear everyone sounded and relieved no one asking me if I was calling from the Laundromat.
I have tried several other headsets from Samsung, Jabra and Motorola and all they performed well but they were either too big, heavy or uncomfortable. The BlueAnt is very small and light, easy to use and good looking. Was this review helpful?
