| | | "New York Times"-bestselling author Roberts takes readers deep into the rugged Black Hills of South Dakota, where the shadows keep secrets, hunters stalk the land, and a childhood friendship matures into an adult passion. Annotation: Lil Chance and Cooper Sullivan became life-long friends after spending their summers together in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Now adults, they are reunited when a murderer begins to threaten the peace of the town. They join forces to protect each other, and as secrets from their childhood begin to resurface, a terrifying truth is slowly revealed.
| Praise| "[T]his premiere storyteller proves an ordinary love story can still win your heart, and even an inevitable confrontation may scare you silly." 03/23/2009 "It doesn't much matter what I say about this new Nora Roberts novel; most of the adult female population of the planet is going to read it anyway. It's a staggering understatement to say that Roberts is review-proof." - Maureen Corrigan 07/13/2009 |
| Author Bio| Nora Roberts | | Nora Roberts didn't become an immediate best-selling author, but once she sold her first novel, she never looked back. A mother of two small children at the time, Roberts began writing in 1979 with a number-two pencil and a spiral notebook. She wrote sporadically while her two sons were at school, a schedule she maintained long after they had grown up and gone to college. Two years and several manuscripts after her initial attempt, her first novel, "Irish Thoroughbred", appeared, the first of over 100 novels she would write in the following two decades. While having dabbled in many of the genre's forms, Roberts has found most of her success writing contemporary romances flavored with both suspense and adventure. The youngest of five children, Roberts grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. In 1968, she married Ronald Aufdem-Brinke, the father of her two children, but divorced him in 1985, the same year she married her second husband, Bruce Wilder. |
