The good news: Outlived its warranty.
The bad news: 1 year warranty.
Note that Cuisinart has a 3-year warranty, Kenmore Elite (re-branded KitchenAid) has a 5-year warranty.
The carafe will keep your coffee semi-hot but only for a limited time, approximately 30 minutes after brewing.
The Space Saver concept does work to keep your counter clutter free.
There's an occasional gremlin where the coffee just refuses to enter the carafe no matter what! Your flooded counter may thank you for the Java jolt.
The 8-cup limit, which translates to 4 real world cups (manufacturers assume people use 5-oz cups!), is a hassle when you have guests. There's more expensive carafes out there with a claimed 14-cup capacities.
Bottom Line: Great concept. Poor execution. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Space Saver Coffee Maker But . . . Wednesday, December 24, 2008 Barry from Orlando, Florida
Overall I'm very pleased with this product. It replaced a B&D Space Saver I'd owned for years. The design is more compact than the previous one, i.e., narrower but a little taller. The two biggest negatives: 1) though is does shut off automatically after two hours it would have been better to have a 'red' light indicating that it is on; 2) the LED display is VERY difficult to read, i.e, poor back lighting and black LED's. Except for these two design flaws it performs well. I would recommend this product as long as the customer is aware of the two deficiencies cited above. Buy.com was the best place to buy this product!!! Was this review helpful?

I have had two under-counter Black & Decker coffee makers before and have loved them. This one is OK but there are two major drawbacks: 1) no matter how careful you are, the carafe will drip when you pour a cup and it spills over the counter or table. 2) the timer display is too dim and very difficult to read. The time of day function is useless. Other than that, the appliance makes excellent coffee. I don't understand why Black & Decker would make a device which is worse than the one it replaces.
