Krazy killers and frisky felines prowl the dark alleys of this horror kitty double feature!

Features: DVD, Dolby, Digital Audio, Mono Audio

After celebrating his second wedding anniversary by trying to strangle his wife, a psychotic writer named Lou seeks solace from Pluto, The Black Cat his wife gave him as a present. But since Pluto isn't in a partying mood, Lou plucks out the cat's right eye and electrocutes him. After a few months getting shock treatment in a sanitarium, loony Lou makes friends with a brand new kitty which also happens to have a "bad right eye." Of course, if you know your Poe, you know where this is going to go, and, sure enough, it all leads to a grisly axe murder, the walling up of the body, and the wailing of the tell-tale puddytat... Well made on a low budget and sprinkled with gore, The Black Cat cleverly updates Poe to Texas, 1965, while still remaining surprisingly faithful to his classic tale of terror. And hey, what other Poe film features a crowd frugging to "Bo Diddley"? Plus, the only witness to a bunch of bloody beatnik murders in Greenwich Village is The Fat Black Pussy Cat whose kitty kat ESP is being affected by the "brainwaves" of the schizophrenic killer whose sexual preference also changes while in a "schizoid state." As a professor takes pains to explain: "Brainwaves. Cat. Murder. Find the cat. Catch the killer." But beware, the killer "is not only a psycho but a beat to boot!"

Editor's Note

Playing on the popular conception of cats as possessing a certain element of evil, this horror double feature contains two cult horror films about those fear-inspiring felines, 1965's THE BLACK CAT and 1963's THE FAT BLACK PUSSYCAT. In the first, after attempting to strangle his wife on their anniversary, Lou, an insane writer, seeks comfort from his new cat, Pluto. When Pluto fails to comply, Lou electrocutes him and ends up being haunted by a very similar cat who enters his life several months later. THE FAT BLACK PUSSYCAT tells the bizarre tale of a cat who, after witnessing a horrifying murder, is possessed by the killer.
