In order to gain control of his family's billion dollar business, a man must win a bet that he can go through grades 1-12 again in 6 months. The fact that he's a hopeless goof who failed all these grades the first time doesn't help.


Plot Summary

Billy Madison, the dim-witted son of a millionaire, wastes his life guzzling beer and devising obscene pranks until his father threatens to leave him nothing. In order to earn his father's respect, Billy, who bribed his way through school, must pass all 12 grades in six months or see a sycophantic assistant get his father's fortune. Billy struggles with the aide and his own idiocy to make good in this gag-filled farce.

5 of 5 Funniest Movie Ever ! Friday, August 13, 1999

Adam Sandler stars in his funniest movie to date. Every single minute of the movie I found myself laughing hysterically on the floor. Billy Madison (Sandler) finds out that his father, who owns a fortune 500 hotel business, paid Billy's teachers so that he could pass his classes throughout school. In order to get the company and not let it go to Eric, who works for Billy's dad, he must complete grades 1-12 in 2 weeks each. During the movie, Billy lights dog s**t in front of a man's door, makes fun of a kid who can't read, and falls in love with his 3rd grade teacher. He even pretends to wet his pants to help one of his 3rd grade friends. This movie is a MUST SEE !

Adam Sandler must have had something going on in his head when he began writing this hilarious screenplay, which I have watched time and again without pausing to ask myself, 'Why am I watching such a whimsical movie?' I know the answer. It's extremely funny. And you should see it.

This movie is very poor, the cheesy jokes go on and on with no intelligence or any sign of a plot. Adam Sandler is better at his voices and facial expressions then acting. Stay away from this movie, fails to achieve intelligent humor seen in the Naked Gun and Monty Python films.

This movie is the best, period! Sandler is the man, and he proves it in this excellent motion picture about perserverance, love, business ethics, penguins and snack packs. It is so enjoyable, even more so after you soak it up for more than 200 times.
