In upgrading, I went through 4 psu's progressively more expensive till finally I found one that worked, only to find that I'd gotten a defective unit. This is my first BFG experience but the said they'd RMA it straight up. I figured 400w was enough, but no, you really have to be prepared to buy a $70+ PSU if you want it to work. The 8800 is very particular about it's power supplies, so err on the side of caution and upgrade your power supply at the same time. The minimum specs...they may work, but don't count on it. I purchased this card with a $30 rebate, but even without the $30 rebate the price is hard to beat. This 512MB OC'd card is blazing fast, and I can run COD4, Splinter Cell 4, and several other games with the highest settings without even a hicup. A great card and a good price. The only minor flaw is the small fan on the card barely cools it, so this card potentially can get quite hot. But a decent cooling setup on your case can easily fix that. I highly recommend this card, and Buy.com. This handles dual monitors, and anything compiz on Linux can throw at it. Was this review helpful?

Headline says it all. I upgraded my old SLI set up that was using two older Nvidia Cards.
REALLY happy with the new card and it blows away my old setup. Seems most games out there unless they're VERY recent and FPS shooters mainly don't even enable SLI anyways from what I've discovered. So for me going to the one card was a win win situation as if technologies change I can just slap in another card and go back to SLI mode again.
Buy.com was by far the cheapest place to get the card and I did not pay for the expedited shipping and it was still here within a couple days.
I cannot recommend this card enough if your system supports it. Was this review helpful?
