While the names are big -- including Ben E King, Clarence Carter, the Chi-Lites, Tyrone Davis, Millie Jackson -- these aren't familar cuts: they are latter-day songs recorded for Ichiban. Although many of the artists try hard, the results are half-baked because the songs aren't very good, the production is too clean and, unfortunately, their vocal skills have eroded over the years.
