Included are Mississippi Fred McDowell's elegant "Levee Camp Blues," Son House's classic "Death Letter," a scrappy take by Big Joe Williams of his signature "Baby Please Don't Go," Tommy Johnson's bright-sounding but ultimately harrowing "Canned Heat Blues," Robert Wilkins' sturdy and wise "Ain't No Way to Get Along," a ragged, rocking, and horn-augmented version of "Matchbox" by Ike Turner, and a solo piano turn by Otis Spann on his trademark "It Must Have Been the Devil."
