For the most part the collection stays in the upbeat, rollicking territory of his work -- as exemplified by "High-Tech Redneck," though there are a few ballads, such as "The Love in Your Eyes," for balance. Admittedly, these latter-day MCA albums aren't the finest releases of Jones' career; the glossy productions on them work against the material and Jones' character, but 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of George Jones is still a decent collection of his work from this period, and probably a better way for fans to investigate his '90s work than buying the individual albums. ~ Heather Phares | Musical Guests | | Tammy Wynette | | Vince Gill | | Waylon Jennings | | Mark Chesnutt | | Willie Nelson | | Garth Brooks | | Merle Haggard | | Travis Tritt |
