5 of 5 Definitely a good buy! Wednesday, February 13, 2008 Larry from Philadelphia, PA
Great big size for the price you pay. Color is excellent. 0 dead pixels on arrival. I have had it for 7 months, and like it so much I bought another one. I definitely recommend this!

5 of 5 Great Monitor Friday, January 11, 2008 Ofer from Hoboken, NJ
I had to fold my home office to our guest room (as we have a baby on the way) I was looking for a monitor that could also be used as a TV in the guest room, and since this monitor has an HDMI connector on top of the DVI (and VGA if you need it), I decided to give it a try.
Installation was a breeze, and the monitor performs very well as computer monitor (which is it's main use), the only comments I have are the fact that you can only adjust the tilt of the monitor, and not the hight of it on the stand... I also am missing the USB hub functionality I had on my old dell ultrasharp.
As for using it as a TV, my only comment is that the blacks are not up to par with real HDTV's, and that there is some lighter area's when the picture displayed is all black - but that is being very crtical... overall it's great for what you are paying! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 this item is great Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Delphos, OH
i ordered this moniter because it was cheaper than some of the rest, and it had good ratings. it is a great moniter, ive had it for about three weeks now with no complaints. i have it hooked up to my laptop for computer use, and i also use it to play my xbox 360 games on. it is an excellent screen for both uses. i was also very impressed with the delivery time. i opted for the free shipping because i dont mind waiting if the shipping is free, but let me tell you i wasnt waiting long. i ordered the moniter on a tuesday, and it was at my house two days later on thursday. if you're looking for a more affordable, and still reliable moniter, then this one is for you. 5 of 5 Love it enough to buy two! Thursday, November 29, 2007 Denise from Tonto Basin, AZ
Having purchased one of these several months ago, I immediately fell in love with the monitor. The monitor is bright, the colors vivid, and there are enough adjustments to set it up with your preferences. When Buy.com had another great rebate offer, I purchased my second of the same exact monitor. It is replacing a Sony LCD, and as I have always liked Sony monitors, that just shows how much I like the BenQ. No dead pixels, easy set up, and great quality. Highly recommended. Excellent monitor. I really like the large 22" 1680x1050. The monitors at work seem so small now! No bad pixels. Included were both D-sub and DVI cables. Easy hook-up. Note: Monitor has no speakers. It doesn't claim to have speakers, but they are so common, one might assume it will have speakers. This is an excellent price for a top brand monitor. Was this review helpful?

I purchased this monitor in March. I researched extensively prior to purchasing as I wanted a monitor compatible with a Mac Pro and for editing with Final Cut Pro. When the monitor arrived and after reading through the instructions, it was a simple connect and use; if anything the manufacturer could have given more information for Mac users.
Since then, showing rough cuts of the film I'm working on to persons (including other editors and designers) they have also been impressed with the quality of this monitor. I have not viewed any commercial DVD films with this monitor. Was this review helpful?

Amazed at how small the box was that it arrived in. This monitor was purchased for my wife who is an accountant. At work she has two 19 inch wide screen monitors, but at home she wanted to see if she could get away with just one larger wide screen monitor. This fit the bill. She is able to put two documents on the same screen and transfer numbers as needed between them. She is very happy with this monitor for the capability it has given her at home.
I ran into one technical glitch when installing. This monitor was installed on an old machine. My video card was not capable of working with the wide screen format. As a result, the image was stretched to fit the screen, which was hard to look at. Purchasing a new video card took care of this problem. This would have been the case with any wide screen monitor we put on this machine. Was this review helpful?

Unit replaced a 19", 4:3 NEC flat screen CRT. I opted for the larger, 22" 16:10 for the slight increase in height as well as the increased width. My concerns prior to purchasing were brightness, contrast, and response time, not that I play many "twitch" games, but I do occasionally. I needn't have been concerned. My desk configuration places the monitor in late afternoon sun, and this monitor is not nearly as washed out as the old CRT. Indeed, I had to turn the brightness down from the factory defaults. And I've noticed no ghosting on anything played to date. In game clarity is much improved over the CRT.
I was fortunate my 3 year old, 128 MB ATI graphics board supports the native resolution, so no worries there. Also, for those worrying about refresh rates, as LCDs do not flicker like CRTs, your board need only support the 60 Hz rate, not 75 or greater as with a CRT.
The unit is a clean design, with about a 7/8" black border around the panel. Others have noted the adjustment buttons are on the side. This makes initial futzing with the setup a tad more difficult, but once done, yields a cleaner front panel appearance. Not one to be constantly adjusting my monitor, in retrospect this seems a good tradeoff.
Tilt is the only stand adjustment. The panel is light enough so if I need to swivel, its not really much of a problem to just turn the whole thing. Height adjustment would be nice, though, for the center speaker of my set is about an inch higher than the bottom of the screen. I found if I'm lazing back in my chair, my view of the Windows Taskbar is blocked. Solutions include sticking a spacer under the monitor, or moving the taskbar to the top of the screen. I opted for the latter.
I've found no stuck or dead pixels on my unit, no backlight bleedthrough, and the image is clearer and more color consistent than the CRT it replaced. Using the VGA connection, the image was slightly better than the CRT in clarity. However, switching to the (supplied) DVI-D cable yielded a noticeable improvement in both clarity and color. The over 50 year old eyes can now actually read the "fine print" under Windows Desktop icons.
In my setup, though, for neater cable management, I needed a longer DVI cable than the 2 meter one provided, so I acquired a 4 meter. If your needs are similar, just make sure you get the DVI-D variant as the other has four extra pins. Most connectors, it seems, will support either, but not the one on the back of this monitor. Also, if you board supports it, you could connect using HDMI. Mine does not, so I haven't tested this feature.
Buy.Com's service and delivery amazed me. Though I opted for the free and ostensibly slowest shipping method, ordering the unit late one Thurdsay night. It was on my doorstep here in the South Carolina swamps the next Monday morning. Well done, lads! Was this review helpful?

This monitor is excellent. It's really bright. The colors look really vivid. Being Widescreen, I'm able to look at two pages side by side with ease in MS Word. I definitely recommend this to anyone. Was this review helpful?
