I bought this for a 2 week trip to Peru. I had used other adapters without much success in the past, but this one worked like a charm. The connections were snug (without being too tight) and solid in all of the hotels I stayed. (These were NOT high end hotels, either.) At least in Peru, this is an easy choice. I have used this product for over 3 years now. I travel to Holland, Spain, and Finland with no issues. This plug is not 100% universal, but for the countries that it does cover, it works great. A side note for those who do not know:: This does not step up or down the power output, it simply is a pass through. That means your power supply has to handle the volt difference. Most devices do and will display so on the adapter. Something like 110/220 volts will be printed on the device. Was this review helpful?

This adaptor will not work in type "G" plugs as found in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and other parts of the world. Type "G" plugs have two flat horizontal prongs with one vertical ground prong. This device tries to get away without a real type "G" adaptor by including a piece of plastic designed to stick into the ground slot, then allowing you to insert the two round prongs normally used for type "C" plugs. The problem is that type "G" sockets require you to insert the ground prong in order to open the two horizontal slots as some sort of safety feature. The piece of plastic included in this adaptor is not long enough to trigger the opening of the horizontal slots; which means you have to open them manually (by sticking a pen into one of the horizontal slots and forcing them open which can be dangerous--we are talking about electricity). If you don't really understand what I am talking about just trust me. I am currently sitting at the Hong Kong airport and finally got so fed up with this adaptor that I just went a bought a new one at a duty free shop.
