4 of 5 Great FM Transmitter Friday, September 28, 2007
    Marshall from Kinston, NC

Bought this a couple of months ago. It works much better than a cheaper one a bought a year ago. If your car's antenna is in the back glass it works better if you put the transmitter in the back seat so it is closer to the antenna.

    4 of 5 Not Bad Tuesday, June 19, 2007
    A Customer from Maryland
I bought this thing about two weeks ago, I live in the city so I was only able to get this thing to play on one or two stations, and they'd be staticky at times.. THEN, I thought... hmmmm, what would happen if I removed the car antenna?, so I did and now I get about five stations where I can play this thing and most of them are clear... I guess it's because the antenna is not picking up the radio stations' signals :-) (just a tip if you don't care about the radio like I do/don't).

3 of 5 Cheap, Easy but low volume Thursday, April 12, 2007
    A Customer from Rockaway, NJ
It was easy to set up and inexpensive but the volume is low even when both the ipod and radio volumes are at their max.

    4 of 5 A great alternative if you don't have a tape deck Friday, April 06, 2007
    jimik3567 from Ridgefield, NJ
Simple to use, runs on batteries or cigarette lighter, the technology has come a long way from the first one I bought 10 years ago, Sound isn't as great as a cassette adapter but still this is a great alternative if your car doesn't have a tape deck, Free shipping and the buy.com price beats what you'd pay at a chain electronics store

    1 of 5 Don't Buy This! Thursday, March 22, 2007
A Customer from Beaver Falls, PA.
This item does not transmit with enough power to give a clean audio sound. Unit keeps fading in out like a distant station would do on a windy day. Using the batteries are even worse then using the 12v adapter. I wish I could return it for a full refund.

3 of 5 Almost Works Well..... Wednesday, March 21, 2007
    Rich from Hicsville, OH
So, I've got this old truck I use as my winter beater and I really didn't want to go through the hassle of tearing the dash apart to put in a CD/MP3 player. I thought this little Belkin radio transmitter would be a nice solution. It's pretty cool that it comes with a power supply that you can plug into your vehicle's 12VDC jack. The connector on the transmitter side is evidently a little loose. The transmitter looses power if it is bumped or moved. Bummer.... When it remains powered up the unit works reasonably well. I had to find a few different blank spots on the FM dial. As I drive 20 rural miles to work, I sometimes have to switch stations. Also, you may find a station works great one day and is full of static the next. So, having the presets helps.

5 of 5 Works well but with muddy FM sound Tuesday, March 20, 2007
    Nick from New Brunswick, NJ
I bought this because my cassette adapter would not function with my newer car's cassette player. It does work flawlessly, even with my rear-mounted car antenna. However, the sound quality is not as good as I experience using my cassette adapter in my other car so I would recommend trying one of those first if you have a cassette player.

    5 of 5 Great product! Thursday, October 12, 2006
    A Customer from Annapolis, MD
I just got back from a road trip (NYC-to-CT) and had no problems finding a clear channel and heard the MP3's clearly. This device was easy to use. I'd definitely recommend it (and Buy.com) to anyone.

5 of 5 Works well in Twin Cities Monday, March 13, 2006
    A Customer from Shoreview, MN
The common knocks against this device are that 1) the battery is not powerful enough to give a good signal and 2) it doesn't work in a metro area. I use it exclusively in my car with the DC input from the lighter, so I can't speak to #1. I live in the Twin Cities metro, and I have it set to 88.9 and have driven with it from Arden Hills through downtown Minneapolis to Edina with no loss of signal anywhere along that route. I crank the MP3 player volume to the max, and get good volume with the radio knob without static during the music playing. You can hear the static between songs. If you are willing to accept FM-station-quality sound, this device works.

3 of 5 Good product with a design bug Thursday, December 15, 2005
    NLG from Trenton, NJ
Unfortunately, the audio sensing power switch and frequency memory draw about 1.5 milliamps from the internal batteries continuously. Battery life is about 2-3 weeks even when not in use. Plan accordingly. I made a plastic plug for the DC IN jack that disconnects the batteries.

5 of 5 Great for car! Sunday, July 17, 2005
    John from Rockville, MD
I used this item in the car with a MP3 player. It is very easy to use and you do not have to worry about the battery since it comes with a adaptor. The sound is great! I live in DC area and still can find a few frequencies to use it. I also tried to use it at home. The sound is OK, presumbly the battery did not work well as car adaptor. Generally, this is a great product!
