I read many reviews before purchasing this switcher, and it is living up to my expectations. The only issue I have is I was not able to share the speakers between my two computers. I do not know if it is a cable issue, switcher issue, or computer issue. I tried all combinations I could think of, but ended up using separate speaker hook ups for each computer. But, that is the lowest priority for what I wanted anyway. The video switching and keyboard/mouse work flawlessly! Shipping was extremely fast from Buy.com. I am very happy with my purchase. hooked up 2 pc running xp via 20" crt monitor with 2 diferent resolutions(1600x1200 85hz and 1280x1024 75hz) and logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. used belkin's cables(F1D9100-06).
setup was simple although it took about 30min for two pcs. used a supplied cable extender and ps2/usb adapter for the keyboard(as instructed in the manual. my keyboard cable was usb). i've not tried using the usb jacks in the switch. despite cable management feature, at 4cables/pc, it will get crammed and cluttered.
monitor res were excellent(my #1 concern). could not tell that i was using a kvm switch. audio function was good too. keyb/mouse functions were overall good except the right mouse button would be pressed sometimes during the switch between the two pc. also, switching by keyb hotkey worked too slow-i.e. scroll lock button responded slow(not sure if it's my keyb or switch). i just use the switch button on the kvm unit.
