This was the cheapest lock I could find for my laptop, and it turns out that it is very versatile, too. I read several reviews on the combo locks and noticed a commonality of people complaining about it being difficult to turn the dials to unlock the lock. This lock has a key, so there are no worries. It is absolutely fabulous. The only thing I can think of that may be an issue for some is that the lock is a couple inches long and about 1/4 inch thick and roughly an inch wide. So make sure you have a few inches of extra space next to whatever it is you need to lock down. Was this review helpful?

Note that while this product works fine with iBooks, it does not work with MacBooks. It doesn't fit the security slot properly and, even if forced to fit, the combination of a horizontal slot and the lock raises the MacBoook up off the table. Was this review helpful?

Strong looped cable attaches to your computer with a simple lock (included). No combinations to remember, just a key. why pay more for combinations or more elaborate devices.
all in all these are just a hinderance to theft as one can cut the cable with bolt cutters or break the weakest link which attaches to the laptop itself.
