5 of 5 Best $25.00 I've Spent Thursday, November 27, 2003 A Customer from New Orleans
I have to say I use this everday and could not be happier about the purchase. This is a must have if you play any FPS games or strategy games like Age of Empires. I even have it programed for web browsing. I rarely have to use the keyboard at all. You can download profiles from Belkin or create your own. It's not complicated to create your own profiles, but it took me a little time to learn how to create a profile and link it to a specific program. I like this product so much I upgraded to the n52. I have had mine for about 3 days and I love it. Now, whenever, I have to interact with the ATC (Air Traffic Controller for those of you non-flyers), I can easily depress the appropriate key. For now, I have done some simple programming of my keys to match my numeric keyboard because that is how to interact with ATC. I can even find the keys in the dark which is something that I could not do with my large keyboard. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Every gamer should own this Tuesday, March 25, 2003 Ryan A from Phoenix AZ
The Nostromo n50 is intense: you actually feel powerful when using it. Your palm rests comfortably on the body while the relaxing shape allows your fingers lay softly on the keys. The scroll/throttle wheel and thumb operated d-pad are easy to use and ergonomically placed. The overall naturalness of the design eliminates sore hand and finger muscles after long hours of play. Not only does the n50 have a cool name, it is a definite advantage in the gaming battlefield. You have all the customizability and functionality of a keyboard with the simplicity and comfortability of a hand-held controller. The only thing the Nostromo lacks is a space bar. When I first switched over to the Nostromo, I often found my thumb slapping the table where a regular keyboard’s spacebar would have been. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Not enough to warrant purchase Thursday, March 20, 2003 porsche944turbo from Camp Hill, PA
I bought this device to play mostly with 1st person shooters, but I am a little disappointed. The software is great, lets you configure everything easily and graphically. Its not difficult to use, however I still prefer a standard keyboard, it just offers quicker easier access to functions you need. With the nostromo you must use a "SHIFT" key to access extra macros, which just delays you. It is a bit more useful for strategy games such as Age of Mythology, the macros come in handy for building units quickly. I hear "THE CLAW" is a better for 1st person as it is form fitting to your hand. The nostromo is useful for some games, but overall I can't recommend it and rarely use it. I see they have come down some in price, so if you do buy it, your only out about $20 bucks. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 not for all of us Tuesday, March 04, 2003 Lou from Flushing, NY
well you really can't go wrong with the product if you want to test it for 23 dollars here on BUY.COM w/ free shipping. I took a chance and the gamepad is not for me. It is way too hard to use with the left hand and the way the diagonal pad is placed. I can't seem to get it right, I have been at this for about 2 hrs now. Trying to learn to play CounterStrike again with the pad. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but it doesn't usually take me this long to get used to a control pad. But the value is not bad. But this is not for me. Was this review helpful?

If Michaelangelo designed game controllers, he would have quit his job after seeing this masterpiece. Simply put, this controller has improved my gaming scores, reduced my hand cramps and generally blown me away. The software is very easy to install, and Belkin provides game profiles at their website! I've had no mechanical problems with it either, since this thing is very durable. It hasn't been treated very well, but it still works just as good as it did right out of the box. HIGHLY recommended! Was this review helpful?

Though this device might not be for everyone, this thing is exactly what it's supposed to be... a perfect addition for someone who plays FPS games like Quake and Cstrike among others. With features like optional shift buttons and the ability to program macros for keys... it has a certain flexibility that your keyboard just doesn't have. The thing is solid, works perfectly, is light and very comfortable (more comfortable than your keyboard). I paid $40 for this thing in a local store... if I knew buy.com had it for $22 I would have bought it here (though seeing it in the store convinced me)It's well worth the money.
