5 of 5 Great UPS with plenty of power Tuesday, December 30, 2008 A Customer from Hesston, KS
I actually own two of these, one powering 3 computers for backup, and the other for powering my home entertainment system, which includes a power hungry 50" plasma TV.
They both have plenty of power to power everything that I have on them, with the entertainment one, about 75% capacity most of the time.

5 of 5 Very nice UPS Monday, December 29, 2008 A Customer from Wichita, KS
This was an extremely good product for the money. The best thing about this UPS is that all of the plugs are connected to the battery. Most of the other UPS's out there have only half of the plugs connected to the battery. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Not a good UPS selection, go with APC instead. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 A Customer from Lexington, KY
I purchased my Belkin 1500VA in March 2006 and it died a few days ago. The run-time is around 5 - 10 minutes at full load, not the advertised 120 minutes. The Ethernet surge protection module blew after the first storm and took out my router, a network switch and the NIC of one of my desktop computers... so, don't trust the Ethernet module, it is crap. If I were you, I would buy an APC unit because they are more trusted and have a better history of performing as stated. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Died after 13 months. Sunday, July 20, 2008 A Customer from Louisville, KY
This UPS has been used 3-4 times and just died a few days ago. When it worked, it performed well. However, I think that for such a high price, it should have lasted five times longer than it did. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Good but could be better Tuesday, July 01, 2008 UNIROK from Townsend DE
I bought this UPS from buy.com a year ago and it recently just died. I have used APC backups that have just died as well so I am not faulting Belkin. I went to the site and I didnt even have to send them a pop. They shipped me a brand new unit about 2 weeks later. Onl cost involved was I had to pay $33.00 to ship it back to them. They need to fix 2 minor concerns I have. One it runs very hot and 2 it would be nice if it had a digital screen with vital info showing. The including bulldog software they give you works but crashes in vista claiming a loss in communication. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Power to Spare Wednesday, June 18, 2008 Roger from Oklahoma
This power backup has already saved my system several times. We live in a rural area where power interruption occurs frequently. Spring means plenty of lightining storms here in Oklahoma so this unit gets tested regularly. I have two (2) CPU's, two (2) LCD monitors (a 17" and a 26") and a HP 4 in 1 Printer all connected. I also ran the HughesNet DSL cable and phone lines through it. Now I can continue to work with confidence through even the worst storms. I plan to buy an additional backup just like this one to protect our Home Entertainment Equipment which includes a 50" Plasma TV as soon as I see another good sale or rebate. I would recommend this one to anyone that has frequent storms. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent value, very good product Wednesday, June 11, 2008 A Customer from Fair Lawn, NJ
I have purchased a number of these over the last year for various customers that needed a good quality UPS that is not overly expensive and not to physically large. It does not have the run time that the higher end APC units have, but sometimes that is not needed and this unit fits the bill very nicely. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Overall very good value. Needs software update. Monday, June 09, 2008 Ed Novak from Villanova, PA
Overall this has proven to be a very cost effective product. It's dead quiet (no fans) and worked fine in a power failure this past week. I plan to buy another unit this week. However, the software hasn't been certified on Vista64 and altough I did get the basic functions to work (automatically putting my workstation into Hibernate mode), and the monitoring functions and displays are pretty cool, the program runs up against the Vista UAC and has to be manually started on each boot.

This is a good solid UPS and battery backup, from a reputable company. It installs easily, and the provided monitoring and shutdown software works well IF you are running Windows. If you are a current Apple Mac user, BEWARE. When I upgraded my Mac operating system to the current OS X version called "Leopard" late last year, the software stopped working entirely and crashed each time I re-launched it. The UPS is "seen" on the USB port by the OS, but no communication (needed to auto-shutdown and monitor line levels, etc.) occurs. Belkin finally replied to my support request with this simple non-explanation: "We are sorry to tell you that we dont have drivers for the [sic] MAC Leopard." This despite full Mac support advertised on the box, in the materials and in fact working fine on the previous release. "Leopard" (Mac OS X version 10.5) has been out since October, 2007 and has seen unprecedented sales & upgrades by Mac users. While Apple is a small overall percentage of the market (14%) it is growing at a faster rate than any other OS platform. Besides, if you say you support Mac, you should support CURRENT Macs. Subtract 2 stars in Performance & Satisfaction. Was this review helpful?

I've bought this UPS over 1 year. It saved my data and PC several times while power failure or electricity surge. I don't have to worry while my lamp flashes or suddenly black-out anymore. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy set up and piece of mind! Saturday, January 12, 2008 A Customer from Torrance, CA
This unit went to work right away. We had a power outage the first night this was set up. It worked just as it was supposed to with no problems. I am glad we had it and it was tested right away. I have no doubts about how it will perform in the future now. And the free shipping was worth it with a shipping weight of almost 29 pounds. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Product Tuesday, December 18, 2007 A Customer from 21044

1 of 5 avoid this unit Tuesday, December 18, 2007 A Customer from Anywhere, USA
I have had two of these. One lasted less than one year than just flat out failed. The second smoked, popped than smoldered the first time it was connected. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wrong Run Time Stated in Ad-Should be 12 minutes Wednesday, December 12, 2007 Wen from Dallas TX
Quick calculation shows that the run time at max load is 12 minutes instead of 120 minutes. This may cause people to buy the unit thinking that it is a much larger unit than it is. It is still a good deal at the listed price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 For power users! Tuesday, December 11, 2007 Britt from Fort Worth, Texas USA
I now have four of these Belkin UPS units. They work day in and day out. I like the form factor and size for the backup power you get. I have three standing with the provided stands, and one flat on a cart. The only negative I can find is that the Bulldog software on a Mac is annoying and doesn't allow much flexibility in settings... when it pops up to warn you that the UPS is near capacity, it interrupts the screen you are working on, and after an hour on the phone with Belkin tech support, I was not able to resolve this issue. For a power user with a large desktop computer, large LCD or CRT monitor, and several peripherals, this is the UPS to get. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very nice unit Tuesday, December 04, 2007 Jeff T from Ocala, FL
I'm a telecommuter and my older Compaq (HP) UPS finally had to go. This is a much more efficient use of space, has 2 additional outlets as well as additions of USB and Network protection is a great plus. The monitoring software installed without drama and does it's job. I rated Performance at 4 only because I've yet to lose power or perform a test. I'm confident all will be well. Overall very satisfied with the unit and would (and most likely will) buy additional Belkin units for other electronics in the house. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Excellent Value, Good Performance Wednesday, November 28, 2007 6points from Redmond, WA
I now have 4 of these units in my office, and so far, so good! They appear to have sufficient power for my large tower systems (running dual 20" LCD monitors) and keep power events from affecting my machines. The first unit I bought has been in service for more than a year, and appears to be working fine. I'm not crazy about the fact that Belkin sources these units from China, but I didn't realize that until my most recent purchase. Because of that reason (and only that reason), I may consider another manufacturer's unit in the future. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 So far, so good Thursday, August 16, 2007 A Customer from Atlanta, GA
The unit was easy to set up, but had to crack the manual to figure out that the power button had to be depressed for a bit to enable the device. Other than that... piece of cake. Hope it can hold it's load until the backup generator kicks in after 10secs >laughter<. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent UPS Wednesday, August 08, 2007 A Customer from Phoenix, Arizona
I have a very positive view of this UPS unit. I worried about power outages as I work at home. I do not hook up my printers to this unit, but I do attach my critical cable modem and router to this UPS, along with my desktops, monitors, and extra laptops. I also take advantage of the phone and ethernet connection protection. My laptops have their own batteries, but I also use this for the docking station (which contains a hard drive). I do not use the software/USB link to automatically power down the desktop if the UPS runs out of juice. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great UPS for the money. Tuesday, August 07, 2007 Paul from Colorado Springs, CO
I bought my first one about 10 months ago for my personal system.
Powers and protects my desktop, lcd monitor, printer, scanner, wireless switch/ap and broadband modem, using about 13% of capacity. Bought my second one about a month ago for my work from home business system. Our power is very stable here but today was the first time I saw an actual power outage, both units worked flawlessly. My work from home system has a large 21 inch monitor and desktop that uses about 23% of capacity, using the Bulldog monitor to test its ability to keep the system up I'm sure that it would come no where near the advertised 120 minutes backup capacity, but by in large during a power outage I'd probably shut down shortly anyway. I sure love having my systems protected. Super value and insurance for the money.

5 of 5 I bought two Tuesday, August 07, 2007 pkeedy from Beaumont, TX
I bought one for my computer and one for my home entertainment system. The low profile is great for my stereo cabinet and they are quiet. I have not a had a power outage yet and really don't care if one happens now! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Not for me Sunday, July 29, 2007 A Customer from Boston, MA
I bought this UPS because of the price. It supported a server (no monitor but with 8 disk drives) and some other low draw pieces of equipment for almost a year before dying. I replaced it under warranty (which was a surprisingly hassle free transaction). When the new one came, it hooked it up to the server and drives only. This one lasted a month before dying.
My next will not be a Belkin. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 they honor warranty Saturday, July 21, 2007 A Customer from Woodstock, NY
I had another Belkin 1000 VA unit, which had a 3 year warranty. It died after 18 months. I went on to the Belkin website, arranged for an exchange and it came 3 days later. So when I needed another such unit I bought this one, knowing that Belkin is great when it comes to honoring their warranty. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Value Friday, June 29, 2007 Tom from Ann Arbor, Michigan
Overall this product is a great value. It includes everything I needed to get set up, the UPS, the cables, software, and instructions. I like that it has ports for modem/phone and Ethernet, and that it has 8 protected outlets. The power capacity is nice and high - powers my dual CRT monitors and dual-core processor with no problems at all. I would purchase this product again. Was this review helpful?
2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Good value for the money Wednesday, June 13, 2007 JT from Troy IL
It's a good looking unit. It looks like a mini-tower computer. Upon receiving it, I opened it up to see what size and type of batteries it uses. I was happy to see it uses two industry standard BP7-12 batteries rated at 7Ah connected in series. Standard size UPS usually use one of these batteries so this unit provides some serious power using two. Ive read some complaints that it runs on 24 volts but I dont see what the problem is if its using two industry standard 12 volt batteries connected in series? Ive also read some complaints about the Bulldog monitoring software but I think its pretty good. It gives you a nice graphical display of whats going on and it offers many parameters to tweak. Ive used the APC software and I dont think its any better. There are other units that offer fancy graphical LCD displays but I didnt want that if the power rating was less for the same amount of money. I just wanted the most amount of power for the least amount of money. I choose this unit because it offers the most bang for your buck and Belkin is a good reputable name brand. I am very happy with the unit and highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
2 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Missing some good features Monday, June 04, 2007 A Customer from Austin, Texas
Cheaper than similar units, I would probably buy the same unit again, but your situation may be different. All 8 outlets are "battery backup", so you will need another surge suppressor for accessories, like a laser printer, that you don't want draining the battery if the power goes out. Also, power and usage history is monitored by software, not on the unit itself. Other UPS products maintain the power history internally so you have a record of power surges and brownouts even when a computer is not connected and turned on. Finally, it is a 24v unit. Most units this size are 12v. I violated my own rule when I purchased this unit, and do not know the cost or availability of replacement batteries. It is a good idea to keep a spare battery available. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Finally, a UPS that works Thursday, May 24, 2007 Paul Carlson from Pittsburgh, PA
I have always thought of Belkin as a second tier supplier, but this purchase changed my mind. The unit worked as advertised, right out of the box. The best thing about it is the long time (> 30 minutes) that it will carry your system. Others tout their maximum VA capacity, never hinting that they can run at best a few minutes after power loss. Belkin answers with a UPS that does the job right. The installation guide was good, too. The design is thoughtful, with attention to detail, like keeping the outlets far enough apart that you can power wall warts. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Total Product Satisfaction Sunday, May 20, 2007 nickcamille from Tyngsborough, MA
I am completely satisfied with the performance of this Belkin 1500 VA Dual Form Factor Small Enterprise UPS - F6C1500-TW-RK. Over the four months since I put this unit online, there have been two power outages and at least 4-5 brown-outs in my neighborhood and this UPS unit performed flawlessly. In fact, I am so pleased with this Belkin 1500 VA UPS that I am now in the market for a second one for my new big screen TV & satellite equipments. I had a great price on the first one: $131.00 including shipping; but now the going price is over $40 more. I would recommend this UPS to anyone looking to protect his investments in entertainment & computer gears. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Peace of mind Friday, April 13, 2007 A Customer from Douglas, GA
I bought one of these units to replace a surge protector for our router and switch in case of power failure. Within a couple of weeks, we had a power outage for almost 45 minutes and the Belkin 1500 VA worked like a charm. Our router and switch stayed up during the power outage for the entire time on the battery backup. A wonderful product at a great price. Was this review helpful?

This Belkin is the perfect size and form factor for my home theater system. I was using a 550 VA UPS, but it barely kept my 2 DVRs programmed when the power went out, and it was way too small when I added my new 52" lcd tv. The 1500 VA Belkin not only has wattage to spare (as long as I keep my receiver volume at a reasonable level) but it fits perfectly beside my vertical component rack, and the recepticals in back and master power switch on the front work much better than the arrangement on the old ups. Remember - in most of the US today it's not voltage surges and spikes you have to worry about, but voltage drops and brownouts. Low voltage is the kiss of death for many electronic devices, so experts who know their stuff recommend UPSs over simple surge suppressors. This Belkin maintains constant voltage, and it handles surges and spikes as well. All 8 recepticals being battery and surge protected makes it even better. Was this review helpful?

As many have reported, the backup time is significantly overstated. After a couple weeks to insure full charge, I saw 20 minutes backup time with a 20% load during a deep battery test. A bit disappointing based on advertised 120 minutes. The battery monitor dropped from 100% to 56% almost immediately making me wonder if the batteries are really up to spec. Existing software runs with VISTA but does not intergrate within the VISTA OS. Belkin says new drivers are coming. Shipping from Buy.com was very quick, and a replacement of a missing cable from Belkin was quick and courteous.

5 of 5 Belkin UPS Rocks! Tuesday, March 20, 2007 Scott T from Houston, Texas
This Belkin UPS has eight plugs all of which provide surge protection and UPS backup. I bought it to operate lying down inside of my home entertainment center to run my receiver and DLP HD TV. It's an attractive looking unit and even in battery mode its quiet. My only problem was not realizing that I needed to hold the power button in for 5 seconds to power the unit. Looks great, works great! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Does the job well and cheaply Sunday, March 11, 2007 Don from Nashua, NH
I purchased one unit for home use to handle my new PC, LCD, router, cable modem and assorted minor electronics. Loading is less than 25%. I purchased one for a commercial customer and installation was flawless. The Bulldog software could be better but it does the job for a simple installation. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great UPS at an AWESOME price. Monday, February 12, 2007 Kalen Darkmoon from Fort Dodge, IA
I purchased this last summer because we have quite a bit of brownouts during the summer and it has been working great ever since. I only have a couple of complaints: I don't like The BullDog software for Windows, I don't use it.
It states that it provides 120 minutes at full load (830 Watts). Less than 10 minutes at full load is more accurate.
In any case, despite those shortcomings it is a great value. The lowest price I've seen anywhere for anything this powerful. A very worthwhile buy! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Solid Performance Saturday, February 10, 2007 A Customer from San Antonio, TX
I bought initial unit 6 months ago for my home computer. Since then I bought three more; one for home entertainment center running 32" LCD HDTV, 1-DVD recorder; 1-DVD/VCR recorder, MCE computer and stereo amp. One for home business computer & peripherals; One for wireless router, Vonage router, cable modem and network printer. Dollar for dollar, best value I've found! Guess you could say I'm very satisfied with product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Exellent Service and Great Product.. Saturday, January 27, 2007 A Customer from 90723
I bought this item from buy.com on wednesday and had it in my hands by 11 am the next day shipped with standard shipping it was so easy to buy from you Buy.com's smooth transaction. I need 3 more of these units so i'll be buying more from you guys thanks..
By the way the unit is great I have it hooked up to a pc with that is used for security in my bussiness in addition to that I have 4 cameras an lcd and a20 inch sony tv to it and the unit is only at 20% load great item.
Well let me tell you why I decided to buy this last week there was a power outtage around where my bussiness is located and the electricity went out for about 15 seconds and that was all it took to fry one of my computers. I would rather spend 150 for this unit and not have to spend thousands in computers if they get burned. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy install. Excellent value. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 vic9116 from Grass Valley, Ca
I must admit that I looked at other "major brands" (APC for instance), before I bought this UPS.
Ultimately, I felt that this unit was the most bang for the buck. Super easy to install and use, phone / network protection, good power capacity and a very attractive price make this unit a winner in my book.
Ideal for the home office environment. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Good followthrough but Screen Saver password a Pro Saturday, December 23, 2006 rowduo from Andover MA
One of two units purchased did not function and replacement was hassel-free.
Software setup for shut down is easy to install in both conventional and in network formats. Have not figured out how to bypass screen saver password blocking shutdown so disabled this function on the computers but a "back-door" to permit shutdown if power failure occurs in the screen saver mode would seem a good feature if you can figure it out! 5 of 5 Great piece of equipment Monday, October 30, 2006 Sean from Los Angeles, CA
Built a small business network, and when shopping around for a UPS the Belkin 1500 VA offered more features and functionality then other competitors UPS systems, at a much better price.
Installation and setup was a breeze. Now onto the equipment registration, so that I can take full advantage of my product warranty. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Belkin protection Monday, October 30, 2006 Paul from Huntersville, NC
As I live in a new subdivision, power outages can happen through construction work as well as storms etc.. After experiencing costly hard drive and tivo failures this year, I decided to try out this Belkin product (I have bought this brand before). I was attracted by the price in relation to the specifications and the number of protected outlets. I've now got two of them, one protecting my home office equipment and one my lounge entertainment equipment. The software seems to work well and is informative about the battery state and voltages as well as a history of events when connected to a PC. Its not been put to the test yet by any major outages but so far so good. I would recomnmend this product based on what I've experienced so far. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Saturday, October 21, 2006 Mike Piantanida from Snow Hill, NC
This thing Rocks!
I haven't bothered to install the software yet, so I can't comment on it.
The box and packing are a work of art. I think you could drop this thing off a truck without hurting it, but don't try.
'Installation' is nothing more than unboxing and plugging it in. Belkin even included all the cables you may need for monitoring. It includes the USB and Serial cables for use with the software.
My power has kicked off several times since I got it and it's performed flawlessly.
8 full protection sockets are nice as well. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful? Click here to see all 65 reviews
