5 of 5 easy install, increases range Wednesday, October 04, 2006 Ross from Knoxville, TN
I needed to increase the range of my laptop in my house... I first bought this pre-n card... and it helps, but not much. Then I bought the pre-n router to go with it, and boom, range jumped up bigtime. I'm now typing this on my screenporch, which was previously off-limits. Installation was easy... just plugged it into the side port of my Dell Inspiron 600m, installed the software, and then chose it as my new wireless connection. Now, if they could just figure out how to make it smaller so it doesn't stick out 2 inches from the side of the computer !!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Buy Wednesday, September 13, 2006 Amit from New York
I think this wireless adapter is good value for money. The wireless performance of my laptop has certainly increased. In public spots I am able to also pick up more signals than I did with my 802.11 g wireless adapter. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Quick & easy installation Tuesday, September 12, 2006 A Customer from East Brunswick, NJ
My daughter needed a wireless card to access the Internet in the house that she's renting with college friends. Even though her laptop is several years old, she installed the Belkin card quickly and easily herself, and has had no trouble with it at all in the past few weeks. I also purchased the wireless router for home so that both kids can use their computers in their rooms while home on break. I haven't had the opportunity to install that piece yet, but will review it as well in the future. If it's as simple as the card to set up, I see no problems! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works fine and fast Monday, September 11, 2006 A Customer from 44124
Did not encounter any problem with the installation. Manage to connect my old fujitsu laptop to my Linksys wrt54G router the first time round. It has been a few weeks and no visible problem at the moment. Connection was speedier than my old card too.
The wireless client interface was not intuitive but it worked after some fiddling around. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Unbelievably Reliable Sunday, April 02, 2006 Pete from Oakland Park, FL
Cosmetically, this router is "different" looking. It takes up more footspace than I would have like to see, but the trade-off of performance and reliablity make the footprint a null subject. I replaced my Linksys Wireless A & G router with this one. Setup was so easy I was able to actually implement other features I couldn't on the Linksys. Once it was set up and configured I noticed an immediate improvement in speed which I didn't really know anything was wrong with. The only time I've lost any connections is if my ISP goes down...again...this unit shines. I can take my laptop next door and still had connectivity. I've been using it a couple of months now. I first bought the Belkin Pre-N wireless router to improve my home networking range and throughput over my existing Linksys WRT54G, which it did. I wanted to see how much of a difference the notebook card would make, and the difference is amazing. My home is on an acre lot, and at the far end of my lot the signal strength is very strong and the speed is 108 mbps. Now I am concerned about how strong of a signal, but the integrated MAC address filtering, WPA encryption, and firewall alleviates those worries. Great product if you need to improve speed and range of a wireless network. Was this review helpful?

Expected it to work well with my MIMO Pre-N Belkin Router, which it does. What I DIDN'T expect was that by adding the PCMCIA card to my laptop, I could access non-Pre-N and non-Belkin (LinkSys AirPlus Xtreme G, specifically) at a much greater distance. However, I had great trouble keeping a connection beyond 40 feet or so, but within 40' it WAY outperformed the built-in 802.11b antenna in this IBM ThinkPad R32. Was this review helpful?

I can't believe how simple this system is to install and use. It worked immediately with my Belkin router. I had problems for months with my on-again, off-again notebook card. This Belkin card was working in 5 minutes or less. Before you give up on wireless, get the Belkin notebook card and router. Your frustrations will disappear and the internet will re-appear. It's worth every cent to change to Belkin! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Surprise, it works!! Wednesday, May 18, 2005 A Customer from Toluca Lake, CA
After living in "hell" with a notebook card that worked on again and off again (mostly off) and being totally frustrated with hours of trying to get their wireless system to work, this notebook card is a dream! I just popped this notebook card into my new Dell notebook computer and WOW! it worked perfectly. I love the Belkin router that accompanies this system. Our home computers are all connected now with Belkin products. This is worth every cent to upgrade and enjoy the internet at last! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product! Friday, April 15, 2005 A Customer from Key Largo, FL
The installation instructions were flawless and the packaging was arranged such that you would have to be an idiot to screw up the installation.
The card immediately found two sources and locked onto the strongest signal. Took it to a hotel that had wireless in the rooms and it worked great! Was this review helpful?

I purchased the pre N router and card with much excitement. The router installed very easy and that went well. However, when I went to install the card on my laptop, I could not install the driver. It was then that I realized that the card is only compatible with Windows XP or 2000. My laptop is still running ME. I contacted Belkin and they do not have a driver and do not apparently have plans to add a driver for earlier versions. The router works well with my old card anyway so I stil like the router and when I get a new laptop, I wil get the card again. Be aware of this because it does not say anywhere on Buy.com site or Belkin that XP or 2000 is a system requirement. Was this review helpful?

Fantastic throughput. Belkin utility keeps crashing on WinXP so I use standard Windows wireless networking to configure card. Good security (supports Radius personal edition) but will constantly disconnect unless wireless router is set to broadcast SSID. Was this review helpful?

Let's face it 600 % faster than other 802.11g network products.-I do not thik so.BUT this is the best pruduct for wireless network avaliable to date. Range is just GREAT and the speed is Super. You could travel half mile before this thik looses signal from the pre-n routher from Belkin. If you buy, buy them both. And no I do not work for them.I used to be a Linksys and Sisco man, but this kiks ass. Sometime I wonder if the signal so strong does couse BRAIN DAMAGE> :) Was this review helpful?
