The original soundtrack to Harold Ramis's update of Bedazzled features a mix of upbeat pop songs related to the seven wishes granted to Elliott (Brendan Fraser) by the Devil (Liz Hurley). Latin pieces like Tony Phillips' "Frenazo" and Javier Torres Mosley's "Mi Amor" correspond to the wish that turns Elliot into a South American drug dealer, while Gary Glitter's jock-rock anthem "Rock and Roll Part 2" relates to his time as a basketball pro. Meanwhile, pulsing dance tracks like Tulku's "Meena Devi (Goddess Mix)" and Apollo 440's "Stop the Rock (Mint Royale Mix)" provide a devilishly kinetic musical backdrop for the Princess of Darkness. However, the soundtrack's most interesting song is "Inside of You Inside of Me," which comes from a sequence (in which Elliott became a rock star) deleted from Bedazzled's final cut. It sounds like an uncanny mix of Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" and a host of other, lesser industrial and alt-metal anthems -- exactly the kind of hit single that the Devil would conjure. Fraser also appears on "Dolphin Song," which he sings after Elliott wishes to be the most sensitive guy in the world. Not surprisingly, Fraser's songs are the most entertaining things about Bedazzled's music; at just ten songs long, it feels half-baked and incomplete -- not unlike the movie itself. ~ Heather Phares
