1 of 5 Very disappointed Saturday, December 06, 2008
Deirdre from Maryland
My 4 year old received this last Christmas. Ours looks a little different, so maybe they have made improvements. The one we have has no flash, and you are not able to veiw the photos on the camara. You must up load to the computer. Kids want to take photos inside especial at christmas. We found this to be a huge dissapointment, especial for the money.

I hear that the barbie digital camera is a good choice for a 9-year-old. It would be great if I could find one for her. I cannot find one anywhere. Crystal would like to have one for Xmas.

1 of 5 Very frustrating, nothing like I expected. Saturday, December 06, 2008
Amee from Indiana
I bought this for my 6 year old for Xmas. She was so excited to have her own digital camera but what a disappointment. When she would try to take a picture it wouldn't work 90% of the time. She got so frustrated she just walked away from it & asked if I would get her one that would work right. Now I have to fight to get it returned.

1 of 5 Terrible! Saturday, December 06, 2008
Erica from Orient, OH
I agree with Amy, this camera is terrible. My 6 year old was sooo excited to get this & it only takes pics 25% of the time. It is frustrating. I am calling Oregon Scientific today & if they can't help, then I am going to return it.

1 of 5 big disappointment Saturday, December 06, 2008
Pam from Texas
I wish I had seen the comment stating that this product was not mac compatible before I ordered it, because the description was wrong. Also, you can not read the display. I did not expect great quality photos, but I did expect it to be usable. By the way batteries were not included.

This item is not user friendly at all. It rarely works. It is not what I expected and unfortunately I had to go somewhere else to buy what I was looking for. This is the peril of shopping online.

3 of 5 Should have a flash Saturday, December 06, 2008
Joel from Upstate NY
This is a great, cheap, sturdy digital camera for a little 5-yo girl with decent editing software. I'd like it better if it had a flash, because it needs a lot of light to take pics. Otherwise, it'll suit her fine until she's old enough to handle a real camera

1 of 5 it is not worth the money Saturday, December 06, 2008
Dee from NJ
The barbie digital camera is not a good purchase for a child of 3 years old. It doesn't show the pictures while taking them. It was very hard to snap the picture - for some reason it wouldn't take the pictures. It definitely is not worth the money!

4 of 5 Easy to use and good photos! Saturday, December 06, 2008
Gillian from Massachusetts
My 6-year-old really likes this camera. She always wanted to play with our expensive digital camera so we got her this one which is very easy to use and the pictures are better quality than expected for the price we paid. Her technique needs practice but she uses it almost every day!

2 of 5 Not as Good as Expected Saturday, December 06, 2008

There is no flash or picture viewer on the camera. I guess you get what you pay for. The pictures where very fuzzy. I guess I need to pay closer attention to the product discription next time.

2 of 5 Didn't generate any excitement. Saturday, December 06, 2008
Lisa from Seattle
My two girls, ages 4 and 6, love to take pictures with my digital camera, but they did not like the Barbie digital camera at all. They don't like looking through the viewfinder rather than an LCD, and they don't get that instant gratification of seeing the image on the LCD right after a picture has been taken. So, only one of the two cameras I purchased were opened Christmas Day, and that's the last time it's been used.

3 of 5 It was a hit for my 6 year on her birthday Saturday, December 06, 2008
Julie from Texas
6-8 years old is a good age for this product. It is hard for kids to not be able to "see" the pictures. You have to take the pictures and then download them to see them.

2 of 5 picture quality is awful Saturday, December 06, 2008
Cathy from Texas
We are really disappointed with the quality of pictures, even those taken by an adult. The software is not user friendly and makes loading the pics on the computer a real chore. My daughter loves carrying the camera around & pretends to take pics...too bad she can't.

2 of 5 kinda difficult to use Saturday, December 06, 2008
Robin from Plymouth, MA
it has no display on the cam so you can see how your pic came out...you have to download then select which ones to keep or delete. Kinda hard for a 7/8 year old to learn to use a digicam.

2 of 5 Not as good as expected Saturday, December 06, 2008
ashley from okinawa, japan
I bought the Barbie digital camera for my 3yr old daughter for Christmas and a month later I still haven't figured out how to use it. I don't like the fact that there is no way to view the pictures that were taken without downloading them onto the computer. Also I found it difficult to tell if a picture was even taken at all. However, she did get excited just because she got a pretty barbie camera. All in all I think it's just too difficult to figure out.

5 of 5 hard to work Saturday, December 06, 2008
AMP from Missouri
This product did not meet our expectations. It is very hard to operate and the pictures that it takes are awful. My kids loved the fact that it is pink and Barbie but do not use it because it is so hard to work. You never know if you took a picture or not. My kids took what they thought was a lot of pictures and it turned out to be only 5 on the camera.

5 of 5 Barely functional Saturday, December 06, 2008
Matt from Chicago
My 5-year-old daughter had just received her first camera - a disposable one - and loved it. She liked it so much, in fact, that she quickly finished off the 24 exposures. For Christmas, then, I thought I'd get her a digital. Though most reviews I read for kids cameras were poor, this one seemed to receive positive feedback. Wow was I disappointed. First, it has no flash, so it simply won't let you take a photo in anything less than bright daylight. Second, it's software is not easy to use for viewing and downloading images. Third and most importantly, when it does occasionally capture an image, the quality is horrible. Though I was prepared for small, low-res files, I now find that almost anything taken comes out either too dark, too bright, or completely blurred. It's too bad too because my daughter is still thrilled with the idea of taking pictures. She even took the camera to school for show-and-tell and let everyone in her class use it. When she asked me to print out all the photos so she could bring them back to school, almost nothing was usable. I'd still like to find a good kids camera - hopefully before my daughter loses interest in photography altogether.

1 of 5 Not what I expected. Saturday, December 06, 2008
Nancy from New Hampshire
The camera has no flash and hardly ever works. It will not take a picture unless there is a lot of light. (not just average light) I have been planning on sending it back but I have not had the time.

Very small, no LCD screen so they can't see what pictures they took until you hook it up to the computer. Not quite kid friendly.

3 of 5 My seven year old loves it! Saturday, December 06, 2008
Traci from small town in Oklahoma
My daughter loves this camera. She has fun even just erasing what she has taken and starting over without looking at them on the computer. The picture quality is fine for a kid just having a fun time snapping pictures of family members. I will probably not ever print any of them but that wasn't why I purchased the camera. She has had more fun with it and it seems pretty durable. She has dropped it several times and it still works!

2 of 5 Not as good as Expected Saturday, December 06, 2008
Pam from Small town in Ohio
This product is not meant for a 5 year old who likes to take pictures! She wasn't able to review pics or even focus on anything. She used our expensive digital camera instead of her Christmas present! It is not a good product for kids who are serious about taking good quality photos. They aren't even scrapbook quality!

1 of 5 this is false advertisement! Saturday, December 06, 2008
chassidy from ga
I bought this camera for my 5 year old because the kid tough camera from fisher-price was all sold out for Christmas,I seen this one and figured well its a digital camera and it will work. Turns out the only thing digital about this camera is that you can plug it into a computer.......not what we had in mind.

Even my 4 year old can tell that the picture quality is poor. She doesn't even want to use it because she took one look at the pictures and announced that it "wasn't real", and rolled her eyes. I guess you do get what you pay for.

This camera does not take pictures that we can print. They are all blurry. My daughter has not saved one picture to print since she got this camera on Christmas Eve. It is very hard to use and my daughter is 8. Not good for a 5 year old at all. This is really just a toy not a real camera.

2 of 5 disappointing Saturday, December 06, 2008
Erika from chicago
For a child, the most interesting thing about a digital camera is being able to look at the pictures instantly on the back panel and delete them if they're no good --- just like a grown-up camera. The Barbie digital doesn't have this feature. The only way to look at pictures you've taken is to hook it up to a computer.
