| | | Newly promoted to sergeant, Philadelphia detective Matt Payne finds himself in the middle of three assignments at once: trying to nail down a cop killer, a serial rapist, and a murderer who fled to France 20 years ago. It's enough to burn out any cop. But Payne's not just any cop. And he's about to show the bad guys that there's no place they can hide from him--or from justice... Annotation: In this eighth BADGE OF HONOR novel, Philadelphia cop Matt Payne, recently promoted to sergeant, must cope with a restaurant robbery gone bad, a brutal rape/murder, taunting messages from a convicted murderer who fled the country, and his own potential nervous breakdown. Meanwhile, his daily routine is disrupted at every turn by an egomaniacal actor researching a movie role.

| Author Bio| W. E. B. Griffin | | W. E. B. Griffin's first assignment in the U.S. Army brought him to Germany as a part of the army of occupation. Having first joined in 1946, Griffin interrupted his studies at Philips University in Germany to serve again in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, seeing active duty as a combat information officer. He continued to work with the Army after the war as chief of the publications division in Alabama, but left this post after publishing three novels and realizing he could now make a living writing military thrillers. Also the author of a series of police procedurals, Griffin is best known for the thrillers he set during both the Vietnam and Korean wars. Having had direct experience with his subject, Griffin injects all his work with a degree of detail and authenticity his readers have come to expect. |
