5 of 5 Works well - but tricky public internet access Sunday, March 02, 2008
John from Austin, TX

This camera worked well right out-of-the-box. I had it working wirelessly on my home network within minutes. However, getting access to the camera's video stream from the public internet took quite a bit of additional time. I had to learn to forward ports on my router and make (I consider) not-well-documented camera setting changes. I have public internet access working now and I am happy with the results. Audio from the camera's microphone works fine for me too.

4 of 5 Axis 207W Network Camera - Pretty Good Tuesday, November 27, 2007
A Customer from Furlong, PA
Overall I am pretty satisfied. I had trouble setting it up (took several days of trial and error) since I do not know all the subtleties of routers, switches, IP addresses, etc. The directions, though not skimpy, should have given step by step examples. Better yet, why can’t software do it automatically? Once I got it running (one more trial than error) it has been great – good picture and stable operation. Through the Axis network, I have been able to get on to it from anywhere in the country. The sound feature has not been very useful…it either does not work or is too choppy to understand when it does work (one of these days I will get back to that). For a moderately priced camera it keeps an eye on things.

4 of 5 Flexible, but not for outside! Monday, May 28, 2007
R. Brown from san diego CA
I purchased this cam to monitor security on a jobsite. It was going to be placed indoors pointing out a window. The first page of the manual warns against direct exposure of the sensors to sunlight. Since the window faces east and would get direct sun hits in the morning, this cam was not suitable for the application. I ended up using this for another application and purchased the axis 221 instead (IT has auto-iris and ifrared). The setup on this cam is easy if you are network saavy, I did not even use the axis software to set it up (of course you need to use a wired connection for initial setup). Thereafter the wireless mode was used. Connection seems to be consistent in wireless mode. I would think the megapixel version of this cam (207mw) would be at this price point soon and render this cam obsolete. Make sure you read the fine print though, 30fps capture on this cam at 640x480, only 15fps on 207mw at full resolution (albeit 1024x768 I think). Also load cam station one software for free from axis website (limitation 1 cam). Overall a good cam, just expected a better price point for what you get. A better option might be the vivotek 7138 or 7139
