5 of 5 Works Great !!! Wednesday, May 06, 2009 Neverdone from Petersburg,VA
Once again, I received my order from Buy.com in two days, using free shipping. As for this product and the price it can't be beat. I opened the computer side panel and had the card installed in less than 15 minutes. My operating system is Vista Home Premium and as soon as I logged on, Windows took me thru the installation process, and Windows Media Center took me thru the steps to set up the tuner. I really like having my own Tivo right at my fingertips and not having to pay a cable company for there TIVO Service. I've had it installed for about a month with no problems at all. I record TV in hibernate mode and can transfer it to a DVD if I want to save the program or movie. I Highly recommend this product. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A good tuner card. Saturday, December 27, 2008 SZ from Plano, TX
Since I need to record from Satellite STB through the analog input
(composite, no s-video), I need a card with good analog
capability with 3-D comb filter. I also want ATSC for future use.
This card serves my purpose. I previously got the other most
popular brand card with the same price. But that card does not
have very good analog picture quality. So I returned it.
The analog picture quality of this card is good (slightly worse
than my pioneer DVD recorder). The digital picture quality
is excellent. Only gripe is that its audio recording level is
bit low (much lower than the other brand card I tried).
Overall, it is a good card. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good TV card Saturday, December 06, 2008 Ricky from Cincinnati OH
I am pretty happy with this card. AVmedia center program does not work well Windows XP (not MCE version). It crashes almost every time when I change channel. It could be due to incompatibility with Norton Antivirus. After I switch to use Windows Vista, it works great with window media center. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent! Friday, October 24, 2008 A Customer from Logan, UT
I am so happy with this TV tuner! I bought and tried a couple other tuners but they never quite worked right and the picture quality was subpar. With this one, I can pick up the digital channels (ClearQAM unencrypted) and the picture is as sharp as my LCD TV. The analog is better also than the other tuners I've tried. I would recommed this to anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Too easy! Monday, October 13, 2008 John from Oakhurst, CA
Easy install, easy setup, easy everything. IR Blaster works great for controlling satellite box. Great picture, awsome using dual view monitors, watch one work on another or watch both. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works Great Thursday, September 04, 2008 A Customer from Anderson, Indiana
This was a breeze, worked right out of the box. The High Def. antennae is not that great but I do get a few stations. Recorded a few programs no issues. Would recommend this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Better than HVR-1600 Tuesday, February 26, 2008 milo from New York
I'm so glad I bought this. I tried the Hauppauge HVR-1600 and returned it because I couldn't get QAM in WMC, the remote wasn't very useful, and it couldn't pull in many stations OTA. I got this AverTV and downloaded the beta drivers and I'm now using QAM in WMC. It took a lot of finagling with the beta drivers, but it does work. Was this review helpful?

Works as advertised. No problems so far. Good video quality. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 good hdtv tuner card Wednesday, October 24, 2007 A Customer from san jose, ca
This is a good hdtv tuner card, but also expensive.
It supports cable, qam and atsc as claimed.
Video is also very smooth, as long as you have good signal.
That is to say, the picture may not be good if you do not
have good atsc antenna.
One drawback is that it only has one digital input.
So cannot take qam and atsc at the same time.
The remote control is very good even on XP. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works Great in Vista x32 Home Prem Friday, September 21, 2007 A Customer from St. Louis MO
Bought this so I could receive OTA HD and record it on my new PC. The reason I looked towards this device is because it was one of the few that had vista support early on but this one also is a PCI express 1 Port which isn't being used as much. Setup was easy install the drivers, put in the card, scan for channels. Quality is great an hour show in HD is roughly around 6 GB on the disk. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great HDTV Tuner Card Tuesday, September 04, 2007 WilliamA from Blue Springs, Missouri
This is the 1st TV tuner card I have ever used or purchased and I couldn't be more pleased. I had to place it in the 4X PCIe slot on my Asus A8N-SLI Premium Mobo (with an AMD FX-60 CPU & 2 GB OCZ Platinum memory) because my eVGA 8800 GTS 640 MB Video card covers up the lone 1X PCIe slot and it works just fine there. HDTV is awesome on the new ViewSonic 28" LCD Flat Panel I bought shortly after I purchased this card. I have used both the AverMedia downloadable software (in 32-bit XP) and Microsoft's Windows Media Center (in 64-bit Vista Premium) and both work fine, but have settled on Media Center. I am using a Philips PHDTV1 Indoor Digital HDTV-UHF Antenna for local HDTV broadcasts (which works great) and the supplied analog antenna for regular TV(which is not up to the job). A great value and has great performance.

4 of 5 Good product... Sunday, August 12, 2007 Anthony from Dallas, TX
The hardware itself is good...it provides crisp/clear pictures. The included CD only contained drivers, as I guess it was intended for use with XP Media Center Edition primarily. You can download software from Avermedia's website...I just wish they would've included it in the box. It is kind of expensive, but it does include the MCE remote.
In order to watch HDTV, you will need to purchase an amplified antenna. They include a "test" antenna in the box, but it's a joke...and they tell you as much in the documentation. The box includes plenty of connectors, which is nice.
Using Media Center, I haven't figured out how to get it to recognize both the analog and HDTV inputs/channels...although I haven't put much effort into it. So that could turn out to be difficult or impossible, although I don't know yet. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Tuner Sunday, July 22, 2007 A Customer from Provo, UT
Tuner works great. I only use the HDTV tuner. Had some choppy video problems at first, but found it to be a bad video driver for the video card. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great TV Tuner for the money! Saturday, June 16, 2007 A Customer from Marco Island, FL
Not bad for an entry level TV Tuner. The price was right and the card being a PCI-E type made it even better! With the new PCI technology you get nice frame rates without lagging the CPU too much. I get a great picture on my 21" Gateway HD LCD Monitor at 1680x1050 in full screen. Some channels created a 'ghosting' effect when things on the screen moved quickly in full screen but not too much of a problem. Win Vista picked up the IR Remote receiver without a hitch and Win MCE on Vista works flawlessly (as far as I can tell). The card was very easy to install and the software driver painless.
The remote took a little while to get used to but no remote is ever really simple the first time around. It just takes time to get used to the buttons. All in all, you'll be pretty impressed what this card can do. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 This card sucks, Doesn't last long. Friday, June 15, 2007 Sam from villa rica, ga
I tried 2 of these cards and they both gave me the same problem, they will work for a couple days and then just stop. My pc stopped recognizing it in the PCI-e slot. Both cards failed. I called tech support but they're completely worthless. They don't try to help you or anything, no troubleshooting or nothing. They seems to be a big joke working out of their garage. I don't think I'll be buying another product by Avermedia.
I tried the ATI Theatre Pro 650 and so far it been wonderful. I'm getting true HDTV over the air. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Works just as expected Tuesday, May 15, 2007 John from Collegeville, Pennsylvania
I included this tuner card as part of my new Vista Ultimate 32bit computer (EVGA 680i, EVGA superclocked 8800GTX, Intel e6700, 4GB memory, etc.) I attached my Comcast analog cable to one of the inputs and the included Over-the-Air antenna to the HD input and it all works just as advertised. I can go through all the standard cable channels, and I get the OTA broadcasts just fine too (HD really looks nice!). The included MCE remote works fine. The only issues are that the video stutters just a little when changing channels, and it can always be cheaper! I recommend this card! Was this review helpful?

I got it for video capture first and HD tuner second. I technically did not care about the tuner part, but at this price it has to work. I did scans off air and for QAM and I get nothing! My HDTV picks everything up (built-in tuner itself), but this get's nothings! It gets analog channels, but I could have gotten a cheap analog tuner instead.
I called their customer service, but their way or helping was trying to rush me off of the phone or just telling me what I already knew - it does not work! This seemed good, but it fails to work. Now I am back to the long and hard search... Was this review helpful?
