5 of 5 Love it! Monday, May 25, 2009 Kevin from Manistee, MI
This is my second AVerTV Combo card, both installed in my Windows 7 DVR/HTPC box. Works exactly as advertised. Can view/record an analog and a digital signal at the same time. Now with two of these cards working together in Windows 7 Media Center, I can do four channels at once. Picture quality for HD is exactly what you would expect, and analog quality is not the best, but pretty darn good. Overall, I love the feature set of these cards and definitely recommend to anyone who is building a DVR or HTPC. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works well with Vista MCE 2008 Sunday, May 24, 2009 A Customer from Chicago, IL
The AverMedia PCI Combo is a very good card for PC TV. I used a splitter on the cable connection (no cable box) so that one output is attached to the Avermedia card's digital input while the other splitter output goes to the Avermedia's analog input via the old VHS player. Windows Media Center 2008 under Vista found nearly 400 channels, unfortunately most were encrypted. The analog and unencrypted digital channels (both SD and HD) which could be tuned were of good to excellent quality. I would recommend this card. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent HD Card for VMC Thursday, March 12, 2009 A Customer from eastern, ky
I bought this card specifically for my new custom-built AMD Phenom quad-core HTPC so I could record HD programs. Well, I am not disappointed. There were a few hoops to jump thru to get the HD channels to show up in Vista Media Center, but there are some really good forums out there (ie: thegreenbutton.com) that just rock when it comes to troubleshooting and tweaking. In all, I do have to give this card a 5/5. Well worth it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good tuner Tuesday, January 06, 2009 A Customer from Dayton, OH
We live on the south edge of Dayton. Our LG LCD TV with an indoor antenna could pick up about 20 DTV stations, but I had to reposition the antenna to switch stations, and about 10 of the stations were "iffy" - sometimes worked, sometimes did not. The same antenna gets me these 20 DTV stations with much better signal quality. You will need a second antenna or a splitter to get both analog and digital channels. Plus the inputs are labeled "TV" and "Antenna", should be "DTV" and "Analog TV". For this particual model you need to download the drivers from Aver, this was no problem.

5 of 5 Best tuner I have used Monday, September 22, 2008 i from Concord NH
I used a few of tuner (from high priced to cheaper one), this one is the best in its quality of picture. Particularly, the analog picture is the best I have seen for a tuner. Best of all, it is a dual tuner, so PIP is handy tool to watch two program (football etc) at the same time. I am using it for my HTPC. With PIP of my LCD, I follow three games on the same screen at a time. happy I bought this. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great TV tuner card Monday, March 03, 2008 tech*e* from San Francisco, CA
I tried many tv tuner cards but I like this one best. It's got it all and has good performance. New beta drivers are fun to play with and I was able to get HD ClearQam in Vista Media Center. Please note that this was a White Box OEM not retail. I had to bend the card a bit to fit in my Gigabyte DS3 MB. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Smooth Installation in Vista Friday, February 01, 2008 A Customer from Sunnyvale, CA
I'm using this card in an HTPC running Vista Media Center (64 bit). The Windows update downloads the drivers from MS and installs them automatically. Make sure to de-select unavailable channels during channel scan. The card seems to get a little upset if it can't find a station and may report the neighboring (existing) station missing or with a very weak signal.
Both the digital ATSC and the analog NTSC tuner are available in MCE. This is my second tuner card in this machine. The other card a AverMedia 180 PCI can record ATSC bringing the total number of programs which can be recorded/watched in parallel to 3. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Good video quality, not great software Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Tampa, FL
I bought this card to replace my old AverTV analog card.
My old card has lasted for a few years now and given me no problems so I felt confident in the brand.
This card produces great video both analog and digital. I had no problems setting up the Aver Mediacenter software, and started watching and recording non-encripted QAM channels fairly quickly.
The software bundled with the card is the problem, it is not user friendly. The keyboard shortcuts are not well planned, far from intuitive and hard to remember. I use a P5W DH board with a Harmony 880 remote, and had no problems controlling their old software with it. With Aver Mediacenter it is not easy, and there, as far as I can tell, is no keyboard shortcut to maximize to full screen when watching tv. I have tried a couple of the free tuner softwares but the card is not easily setup with them. I am looking into commercial tuner software that will be more user friendly. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great with MCE 2005 Tuesday, November 27, 2007 floppyhat from PA
I bought this card because of it's compatibility with MCE2005 and I was not disappointed. Media Center instantly recognized the card and easily tuned Over-the-air digital television. I am now recording HDTV from my antenna with this card. It's great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very Nice Card!!! Thursday, August 16, 2007 Judson Pitt from Toledo, OH
This card replaces an ATI HDTV Wonder. All I can say is it is 100% better. I shutdown the PC, installed the card, rebooted, installed the driver and it automatically setup in MCE. Picture quality for NTSC is also an improvement. I highly recommend this card to any one looking to capture NTSC/ATSC tv to their PC. The fact that is uses PCIe is also a bonus. 4 of 5 Strong signal, picture is ok Tuesday, July 03, 2007 A Customer from Charlotte, NC
I can only compare this to a Kworld tuner which had terrible receiption. There is no noise in the picture. Receiving standard NTSC channels, there is bloching in Full Screen mode, but it looks much better in a smaller window. When connected to a cable, it has not been able to pickup the HDTV cable signals, at least through the cable connector. Operation with Vista Media Center works great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good product - misleading listing Wednesday, June 13, 2007 A Customer from Chapel Hill, NC
This is an excellent tuner card that installed easily into my Vista Premium system. The listing includes comments that could be misinterpreted, so beware. ------
This card contains 1 ATSC tuner and one Analog (NTSC, PAL...) tuner. It does not contain two tuners capable of everything. You can not watch one Digital channel while recording another Digital channel. You can only watch a Digital channel while recording an Analog one or visa-versa. ------
The card can receive clear QAM (digital)channels from your cable feed, but Windows, Vista or XP MCE, do not support it in that mode. Until Microsoft changes its policy, you can only watch digital stations received on your antenna. Was this review helpful?
