    This DVD player doesn't play all movie DVDs. It freezes when it plays certain DVDs which are playable on other players.

    The A/V jack automatically switches between in and out. If you connect a video source, it senses it and automatically switches the jack to be an input, otherwise it is an output jack. There is no physical in/out switch.

    I got the DVD player, and it only had one A/V jack. There was no In/Out AV switch on the DVD player. I looked at www.audiovox.com for the specs before I bought it, and they advertise 1 A/V jack with a In/Out AV switch. I have the correct model, D1718. I am not sure why there seems to be 2 "versions" of the D1718, but the one I have is different than what is advertised here or on Audiovox's website. If you want an A/V Input(like I did), then don't buy this.

    The screen resolution is good to me. The built-in speakers are a little tinny, but good enough. On the other hand, the A/V input/output works fine with my another portable DVD player that only has an A/V output. The real reason to buy this unit is the portability factor, which allows it to be used in the car and keep two children relatively calm on car trips. Speaking of fragile, the disc door is thin plastic, and may break if closed roughly or mishandled. Overall, I am satisfied with this poduct.
