5 of 5 Great Amp for the $$. Clean sound. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Chris E from New Jersey
I bought this amp for my grandfather to replace his 25+ year old Carver. It is very simple no frills but it does its job. The sound is clear and clean and I consider myself a modest audiophile. He is pushing a pair of Klipsch bookshelves w/8" dirvers. That said this amp is not a powerhouse @ 50watts a channel.
We tried a few other sets of speakers and it sounded great and had good bass response. The Klipsch are kinda power hungry. We actually bought a second one of these and bi-amped them and they kick now. He uses these amps with gain set at maximum (recommended) and uses a Carver preamp for volume control. 5 of 5 Works great as a subwoofer amp. Monday, May 19, 2008 A Customer from West Chester, PA
I bought this amp for the purpose of driving an old car subwoofer I had left over from a previous car. In bridged mode this amp has no problem driving the old Kenwood 10" sub with a clean, clear and deep signal. The manual says that it has a 4ohm minimum load in stereo, and an 8ohm minimum load in mono-bridged mode; however as correctly reported online, it has no problem driving 2ohm loads in stereo or a 4ohm load bridged (my current setup) without distortion or heat issues. 5 of 5 Sweet Sound! Tuesday, August 27, 2002 Tony from San Diego, California
I needed a clean sounding stereo system for music in my office/den. The Audiosource Amp1, pre amp/tuner2, and equalizer looked like the right fit, so I got them, along with some cables and speaker wire to hook them up. I expected GOOD sound, but these things really exceeded my hopes. They sound SWEET! I could not be more happy with this choice! Was this review helpful?
