5 of 5 A LOT going on in there for one card Friday, October 27, 2006
montebainter from Seward, NE

Pros: Card and drivers installed without even one single issue (that's big). The tuner/capabilities are much more sophisticated than the card it replaced (not ATI). The remote (which you have to order separately for an added shipping charge - offer is a little obscure on the bottom of a carton end flap) does tons of stuff - I can't imaging trying to run this without the remote. Very versatile media watching/playing options. I am using two flat panels (one digital, one analog) for video editing and you can connect an additional TV as well (but not HDTV if also using two displays). So "versatile" is key word here. Cons: The shipping charge to get the remote. The tuner is having a problem actually tuning channels higher than 60 and there is no frequency tweaking option I can find (although it measures signal strength of those channels at 100% - I BELIEVE this is something I will get straightened out - but may be wrong). You really have to learn how to outsmart the three or four places you can access to change setup settings (channels and audio and viewing styles are easy, but preferences are a little maze-like) -- I find myself saying, "now where did I see that? - oh - it must have been over here" a lot! The "this is how you would set up connections" to do this or that "help guide" has illustrations that are almost comically complicated (I'm an engineer and - WOW - who can follow that?)
