| | | The USB PDA/ Serial Adapter (UC232A) provides you with an external serial (DB- 9 male) Plug-n-Play connection for use with computers, notebooks, and hand held computing devices that support USB. The PDA/USB Serial Adapter has a standard type A USB plug. This USB PDA/Serial Adapter provides PDAs, digital cameras, modems, and ISDN terminal adapters with high quality serial connections at a data transfer rate of over 230Kbps. 5 of 5 Works well, easy to install Wednesday, July 16, 2008 A Customer from Chicag, IL
Works well. Installed the software included on the CDROM, Windows Vista automatically detected the new device, and connected it to an old Palm M105 with a serial connection and it works great. The build quality seems good and the connector is nice and secure to the serial port. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great on Linux Friday, May 26, 2006 A Customer from Boston, MA
I bought this adapter because my new PC doesn't have a serial port. It worked flawlessly out of the box on a Ubuntu Linux system. Was this review helpful?

There are many USB-to-Serial adaptors on the market. This one is the best. I have bought many of these Aten UC-232A converters over the years, and they have always worked well with any O/S, including Windows XP. Easy to intall, and easy to set up. Works invisably, as it should.
Don't be mislead by the reviewer who says there is no driver for Win'XP. The NT driver works with XP, or you can download the latest XP driver from Aten's web site. Was this review helpful?

Aten does not supply Windows XP Drivers for this product. As of this writing there were no plans to do so. They seem to have lost sight of the fact that most computers come with XP installed as the default. Was this review helpful?
