This mobo has it all -- almost.
You've got no onboard Firewire/IEEE1394; but tons of USB2.0; video out in VGA, DVI, HDMI, and display-port; optical audio out, or audio over HDMI; HD 1080p onboard (no need for another video card, but if you do you can do "hybrid-SLI"; and with the EPU (energy procesing unit) to help the mobo "sip" power rather than gulp it down.
You've got a couple PCI slots and one of the newer PCI express slots as well (plus another for an optional video card).
I love this little board.
The only issue I've run into is every time you make a change to your attached drives (optical, RAID, SATA, USB, etc.) the BIOS seems to "forget" your boot preferences and won't let you boot up until you reconfigure the BIOS to reflect the new changes. Took about 30 minutes to figure that one out.
Also, if you load this puppy up, your microATX PSU's can't dish out all the power that the board and connected devices require, so go with a full-sized PSU, not a dinky one.
Runs Vista SP1 great. Was this review helpful?
