5 of 5 Totally thrilled with this Netbook! Saturday, July 04, 2009
Linda from Burke. VA

I bought this little Netbook hoping it'd be good enough to use for checking email, etc. when travelling, and it'd be lighter than my regular laptop. It has surpassed all my expectations! It picks up wireless signals great and is faster than my Dell Studio 1535 that is only 1 year old! It took a little experimenting for me to be able to change settings (such as "full screen" or "center desktop" under graphics options-panel fit)and other options, but I was able to. The keyboard is tight but I was able to get used to it, and I prefer this netbook to my bigger laptop now. I have everything on a flash drive from my other computer, and even though this netbook doesn't come with Microsoft Office, it converts things to Microsoft Wordpad for viewing. (Even Excel files can be viewed through one of the Works programs.) I know I can add programs or more memory too, and probably will. It is so light and convenient! Such a great deal for the money - I highly recommend it!

5 of 5 First Hand Review Wednesday, July 01, 2009
WebJinks from Wichita, KS
I can't say enough good things about this little netbook. I have never wanted to work mainly off a laptop. So I never wanted to invest $1000 just to be mobile. For $300 it's absolutely perfect and find myself spending more time on it than I intended. Pros: price is great, battery is good without wifi on, performance is unbelievable out of a tiny processor, plenty of space, bright enough screen, decent sound Cons: keyboard is obvious so don't buy one and then complain about keyboard, the screen is not totally clear on a white background but still looks good watching movies, buttons on pad are stiff Small things I didn't even know it had: you can scroll with 2 fingers and should be a standard (it's perfect), very long power cord, all the function keys make it perfect to quickly adjust sound screen and standby, not a lot of preinstalled junk

5 of 5 love it!!! Sunday, June 21, 2009
RTolliver from cinncinati oh.
What a deal. This is a mobile techies best friend. Runs smooth, screen looks great. Have connected to internet via broadband, wifi, and by using my cellphone as a modem and it detectects and connects in an effortless snap. Other than not having a cdrom it does anything my laptop or desktop can do and you can always get a usb cdrom if needed on the cheap. Keyboard takes getting used to, and battery life is the only thing that could improve. Over all if your looking for a low cost solution for mobile computing this is the way to go.

2 of 5 Great Netbook Lousy Charger Sunday, June 07, 2009
AY from Vienna, VA
This is a great little computer got it 3 days ago (arrived in 2 days- WELL DONE buy.com)so far it has been working pretty well. Today, however, the battery charger died. The computer is under warranty so I'll see if it will be replaced & how long that will take. Meanwhile, I can't use the computer.

4 of 5 Asus netbook sound problem Sunday, March 29, 2009
A Customer from Chesterton, Indiana
I'm a court reporter and use this to take to the attorney's office. It is SO convenient! The screen is very clear. The only problem I'm having is the sound I'm getting from an external microphone. It's not that great. I also wish I would have went with the higher battery life.

5 of 5 Great little laptop Monday, March 09, 2009
Mr. NewASUS from Middletown, MD
So far so good with this laptop. the only thing (expected) is that the keyboard is so small, that I usually find myself typing with two fingers only in order to not make mistakes. I have a port replicator attached to a 19" monitor, USB keyboard and USB optical mouse, so I just plug in the video and one USB cable to the laptop, and I'm good to go, just like a big desktop. The other thing that I love about this laptop is that it came loaded with Windows XP Home Edition, none of that VISTA crap. and it came clean, no extra junk loaded like Dell computers. This is my first ASUS, and I recommend it 100%.

5 of 5 I Like It Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Jay Jay from Paramus, NJ
I bought this netbook because I like its small size and light weight, and it costs little. I am using it primarily for emailing, browing internet, watching YouTube videos, light duty wordprocessing, and remote controlling office PC / VPN. It works fine for the intended purposes. I have another more powerful laptop; but that one is just too big. This netbook is so small that I don't give a second thought putting it in my brief case. I have replaced its 1GB memory chip with a 2GB. Not that I really need this upgrade. I just want to be done with this, and I don't need to re-visit this issue again. Memory chip is cheap anyway. There are some downsides though. It can handle DVD quality videos. But it cannot handle higher quality videos. Luckily, all of my recorded TV shows are in DVD quality. The keyboard is really small and is missing some keys that I like to use, such as PageUp / PageDown / Home / End. I will need to use key combination to perform those navigation keys. I fix this problem by remapping them to some rarely used keys. Hitting the space-bar doesn't always register, and I need to go back to hit it again. I am sure my hands will adapt to it -- sooner or later. I like it.

5 of 5 Awesome Sunday, January 18, 2009
A Customer from Greenville, SC
So far this has been a great device. I'm dual booting XP and Windows7. I have added another GB of RAM. The size is great. I have some upcoming trips to take, and plan on leaving the big laptop at home. Then keyboard took some time to get used to, but I find that I can type pretty well after just a few weeks of use. I find that I'm spending more time out of my office (at home) and more time in the living room.

5 of 5 This is the ideal netbook. Thursday, January 15, 2009
Nate from IA
I've owned four netbooks, including the first Eee Pc. This one is, easily, my favorite. It's about as small as these things get. It's priced right and it's the quickest netbook I've used. Everything pops on this thing. Of the netbooks I've owned, the two Eee Pcs are the only ones that don't require a lot of waiting around. When you want to do something on this computer, it happens, and it happens quick. The only thing I can think of that I don't like about this machine is the finish. I prefer the matte finish of the original, over this one's glossy finish. But, I guess we can't have it all, and that certainly isn't a deal breaker. I really don't know that I could be more satisfied with a netbook than I am with my 900ha.

5 of 5 Great little laptop Thursday, January 08, 2009
Cheryl from TN
The students are thrilled with this little netbook. Several of them have shown an interest in getting one. Its light and so easy to use. Didn't however find an antivirus program on it so you need to install that. External DVD drives are reasonable on Ebay & here if you find that you need one. Great if you are wanting a laptop to take to work or school. I really love it.

5 of 5 Great Buy for Simple Tasks Monday, December 29, 2008
JAbdel420 from Chicago, IL
This ASUS Eee PC 900HA is a great buy. I use it at home to surf the internet and check on my email without having to boot up my behemoth laptop and/or desktop. PROS: Great size and feel. Pretty good battery life. Webcam is decent. CONS: 1. Keyboard is way too small. I got my Dad the 10" Asus Eee PC and they keyboard is much better. 2. The webcam is advertised as .03 Megapixels but I believe the Ubunto version lists the webcam as 1.3. I believe this may be a driver issue but the camera SHOULD be capableof 1.3 Megapixels. But all in all, I highly recommend this for casual use around the house or for students that want something light to take with them to class.

5 of 5 Amazing Value!! Monday, December 29, 2008
Greg from Plano, TX
I bought one of these laptops for my niece and nephew for Christmas. Even though it's a mini laptop it has a full size keyboard. XP boots up very quickly. I also loaded Office 2007 on this laptop and on a brand new desktop computer with 2 gb of Ram. Office loaded in half the time on the laptop! This laptop works like a charm. Could find no drawbacks other than you'll have to buy an external optical drive if you want use cds/dvds.

4 of 5 Can't believe how well it works Tuesday, December 16, 2008
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
I bought this on a whim to see if I could lighten my travel load. I currently have a 6 month old Dell Lattitude with 2GB RAM, 2.6Ghz Dual Core Celeron and 160GB HD. I loaded everything onto the Eee PC and for the last 3 weeks I've been using it almost exclusively. I'm downright shocked that it has become a viable replacement for a full-sized laptop. And it was CHEAP too. Likes - Powerful enough for standard internet and office apps. Lightweight and compact. Neat little tricks and shortcuts built into the mousepad and system tray to make the small screen less of an issue. Once you get used to it the small keyboard is not so bad! I'm typing this with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor and as a desktop it works great! Dislikes- No bluetooth. Battery life is realistically about 2 hrs. Poor performance at high screen resolutions. Mouse buttons are too high effort. Keyboard feels cheap and tinny. Defiantly recommend this laptop to others!

5 of 5 Good deal for the money Sunday, December 14, 2008
A Customer from Dover, TN
I have used this a couple of times at school, just for checking email and surfing. Works great. No antivirus installed with it though. I don't miss the DVD but you can buy external ones on Ebay for under $50. You will need that eventually should it ever crash cause they send you a restore CD with it. Runs fast, haven't tried it on the battery yet but suppose to be 5 hours. Its lightweight and easy to slip into the purse. Even came with a sleeve to keep it from getting scratched. I would recommend it to others looking for light weight and easy to use.
