The Surf 2G is just a few bricks shy of a full load, save your money and spring for a more full featured version with more RAM (I found out the hard way this unit can't be upgraded....) It's performance is severely hampered for anything beyond the most basic word processor and spreadsheet tasks. Was this review helpful?

This is a down and dirty performer. It does what it is supposed to do.It has its limitations, small screen and keyboard, but it still functions while being easy to carry around. I prefer to plug in a USB keyboard and mouse when at home for ease of typing and movement on the screen. The touch pad has an interesting feature, tapping on the touch pad is like using the left click of a mouse. For completeness, it should have a phone modem for those times when you get to a hotel or friends house and there isn't high speed access. There is a covered place on the case where one would have the jack, the models Buy.Com don't have phone modems. You don't need "windows", "Links??" works fine. Was this review helpful?
