Camera has terrible LCD screen, bad ergonomics, no zoom. All of this were clear when I bought 2 of them as gifts to my kids, they were cheap and nothing good was expected. But both of the cameras On/Off buttons dying withing one day from each other was not expected either. The cameras were 5 months old and were not used much at all. I can not blame my kids because having the same exact problem with 2 cameras at the same time can not be contributed to negligence and the second camera died in my own hands. I bought this as a disposable sort of digital camera. I've mostly used it in the video mode..it does work great. I love the carabiner latching on things and the circle which makes it easy to keep in the hands.
Problems...flash is useless and results in ghastly colors and the screen is almost impossible to see in the light so it can be a challenge to see exactly what I'm shooting.
Overall, love the camera and will get another when I break/lose this one. Was this review helpful?

We are very pleased we purchased this camera for our 7 year old daughter for Christmas. This camera not only takes great pictures it also does video. The Bean takes excellent outside pictures. Depending on the lighting/flash you can get the same results inside. It is very easy to use. My daughter loves to take it on our hiking trips. (Even after dropping it a number of times it still works like brand new.) I highly recommend this item to anyone (not just kids) looking for an inexpensive digital camera. Was this review helpful?

I've experimented with several features of the camera since receiving it as a gift. Even thought I haven't gone through the owner's manual yet, it's very straight-forward and easy to use. This was a gift to our granddaughter and she is really enjoying it. She has been running around taking pictures of everything. It was worth the price and for a teenager I feel that it is perfect. She loves the color and the fact that it doesn't look like every other camera. Was this review helpful?

This functions exactly as advertised. It is not a competitor with high end digital cameras, nor is it intended to be. But, on the highest resolution setting, it takes exceptionally good photos. It is convenient, durable and easy to use. The only two areas that need to be mentioned are:
(1) The port covers are made of a rubber-like material that stay in place via a friction. The hinge end of the cover is simply a tab that fits tightly into a slot and can be pulled out, risking loss of the cover. A solution that has worked for me is to add a small dab of glue to the tab securing it into the slot. (The risk that is generated by this "fix" is that accidentally pulling too hard on the cover could then tear it at the hinged end.)
(2) The manual that comes in the package with the camera is very rudimental and fails to fully address many features, etc. regarding the camera. However, the manual that is available for download (.pdf format) from the Argus website is very thorough and useful.
Overall, a very good camera at a good price. Was this review helpful?

The Argus Bean works great. I have had no problems with it and I use it regularly. I do merchandising so I have to take pictures of my work assignments and this camera has performed well. Brought it to the river this weekend. Splash proof for sure, does video pretty well and takes way better pictures than my camera phone. Small size so you can clamp to a backpack easily and not worry about losing it. Easy to use and really just pretty cool, everyone wanted to hold it and use it. It was a hit!!
