4 of 5 Not for everyone Sunday, July 06, 2008 lebeau from Lawrenceville GA
I decided to give this a try since I just purchased a MacBook and am very happy with many of the features. I think the biggest plus for me is the webpage I have have with some really cool templates provided. I'm not sure that I will renew next year just for the fact that most of the stuff I'm paying for I can get for free thru Google or Live.com. Very good features, but most I already get for free. 4 of 5 More options than expected.... Monday, June 09, 2008 G Yeager from San Diego, CA
I am really pleased with everything I have purchased from Apple. From my iPod to my iPhone all is compatible with one another and is extremely intuitive.
I originally purchased .Mac to take over my GoDaddy website. I have a Mac, an iPod and an iPhone and love how they work. I wanted to support Apple anyway I could. My .mac website is really easy to update, add functions and the theme's are up to date.
I am really happy with my purchase. Thanks Apple! Was this review helpful?

While not the cheapest route for website hosting, .Mac is a reasonably easy way for Mac users to get online with a website and a @mac.com email address. The syncing features are also useful. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good all-around addition to your Mac Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Hershey, PA
.Mac has several components. The mail is fine if you want an ISP independent e-mail. The storage and sync functions are the selling point for me. It nows provide 10gb of online storage. I sync my address book, bookmarks, and contacts across all of my Macs. I also use several programs that are sync services aware so, for example, when I add a password in 1Password on one of my Macs in Safari, in no time the password is available on every other Mac in any browser. The backup program is transparent and reliable. Overall, a good purchase. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Better every year Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Wakefield, MA
Although on the expensive side with a lump yearly payment, it's getting better every year:
- The email is great: The email service is IMAP and encrypted, so it's as good as a corporate server. Also the bookmarks and address book are synchronized online.
- It helps sync about every OS setting between different Macs no matter where they're located or connected.
- Photo gallery is among the most polished photo sharing offerings
- iDisk is a WebDAV online storage that works as good on Mac, Windows and Linux (The hosts file might need tweaking on Windows, but it's very straightforward). It also allows standard web access now which makes it even better
- iWeb is an excellent program for non-professional web hosting (Only because there's no server-side scripting allowed).
I started using it because .Mac email addresses were no longer free (By the time all my contacts knew my new email, is stopped being free), but at the end, it provides a whole lot more than free email services, and the OS integration is so well done that it's worth paying for. It's so seamless that is hard to go back to other services. Was this review helpful?
