The iPod classic can still cut it just. Although the form factor's largely the same as the old 5.5G model, it's effectively all new - the easily scratched polycarbonate case has been replaced by a much more robust-feeling aluminium one. My wife's old 30GB iPod Video stopped holding a charge, even after I replaced the battery, so I bought her a new 80GB iPod Classic. She loves it. Typical iPod perfection, but this new one offers Cover Flow, too, which she loves. This is a great unit.
