5 of 5 Good Notebook Stand Sunday, March 02, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
The stand is lightweight but does not feel cheep. The bar in the front folds down without a problem to expose whatever ports or bays your computer has in front (in my case the Mic and Headphone jacks). Another good feature is the 4 USB ports. However, I would like to see them on the side instead of the back so that I can push the stand all the way back on the desk. However, this is a minor flaw, in my opinion. I like that the stand swivels but don't have much use for this feature.
Overall, this is a very good stand and would have earned all 5's if the USB ports were on the side. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Replacement for Docking Stations Thursday, November 29, 2007 Mark from Abington, PA
I have seen similiar products at office stores for over $80.00 so this is priced very competitively. I have a Toshiba M65 Satellite with a 17" screen that, because of this product, I can sit and work comfortably at without hunching over. Only one small complaint, because I am greedy, is that I wish it had 6 USB ports instead of 4. Overall a very cost effective alternative to buying brand specific port replicators, docking stations and monitor stands which can cost hundreds of dollars. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great system Monday, March 12, 2007 A Customer from Austin, TX
This had almost everything I was looking for in a Notebook stand.
(On my dream list, I would've added a fan, but no system I've seen includes that. Also, the open back helps with cooling and, if you angle it right, you can slip a Chill Pad in there).
The Lapbook seems sturdy. The rotating base is a nice touch. Overall, I'm really happy with the stand. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Its works, but . . . . Thursday, October 26, 2006 fletch2015 from Alexandria, MN
The Good:
- Plugged the unit in, booted up and everything works.
- Angle adjustment works as advertised.
The Bad:
- The USB ports are all on the back of the unit, making them inconvenient to use. User must turn the unit around 180 degrees or reach around to plug and unplug peripherals.
The Ugly:
- The front of the cradle that grips the laptop base hides important stuff on the front of user’s notebook (ports, power indicators, etc.). The user must jack with the Notebook Stand to ‘unhide’ the laptop’s front ports and indicators. I had to lift my laptop out of the cradle in order to access the 'unlock switch' to open it. I then had to reposition the laptop off-center so I could use my front speaker and USB ports.
- Price is steep. Both items on my order arrived on the same day (via FedEx, I think) in separate packages, thereby doubling delivery costs. Buy.com could reduce their shipping costs by simply putting both items in one package.
Recommendations to APC:
- Overall the Notebook Stand is a good product-concept and I’d recommend it because I haven’t seen any competing units. It does have room for improvement, however!
- Move the USB ports to where they are more user-accessible (to the sides, boss).
- Even better would be a USB base-unit that swivels 90-degrees to the left, right or front. Such flexibility would enable each user to adapt it to their individual set up. If APC adopts this idea, I’d appreciate their sending me a unit to evaluate.
- The cradle holding the laptop base must be changed to be more flexible so as to allow the user to position the front gripping surfaces to fit his or her notebook and not block ports, speakers, LEDs and the all-important switch to open the lid.
- Adding a compartment below the cradle where the user could plug in an external DVD burner, external hard drive, etc. would provide a big boost in value.

5 of 5 A great product Tuesday, October 03, 2006 Florida consumer from Pensacola, FL
I use my laptop at work instead of a desktop and am so glad I ordered this product. Along with a wireless mouse/keyboard (plugged in the back) my desk is much more clutter-free. The stand keeps the laptop cool and puts it at just the right height. A great purchase! Was this review helpful?

I purchased this unit as a cheaper alternative to the notebook docking stations offered by the major laptop manufacturers. The curved design of the APC notebook cradle does an amazing job keeping my notebook cool while I'm using it. Each contact point is rubber-padded to protect the computer from scratches. The bar on which the bottom of the computer rests folds down for access to ports, and since it's U-shaped rather than solid, some ports on the front of my computer (the headphone jack, for example) are accessable even when the computer is resting in the stand. It is wonderful to be able to leave keyboards, mice, printers connected to the stand and only have to plug in one USB cable into my laptop. If you don't have the money for a separate monitor, or the fancier docking stations on the market, this is a great alternative. Was this review helpful?

If you work at a laptop for more than 5 hours a day, then you must get this stand. It has solved my neck pain, the USB hub works great, and it gets a lot of compliments at work. It also does a very good job of keeping my laptop cool. A little pricy, but well worth it. Was this review helpful?
