I've owned larger APC UPS systems, but needed a small system for my son's pc and LCD monitor. The BE650R is the perfect size, giving 15-20 minutes of battery backup for this system.
My only complaint is with the APC marketing folks, who continue to use the exact same model number on different products. I found at least three different APC UPS products sold within the past year or two under the APC part number "ES650". One model only had four outlets, while the others had 8. Some models turned out to be older models with less warranty.
But, I'm happy with the newer model I bought... just be sure if you want the newer model with the longer warranty that you get the model that also indicates a part number of BE650R. (Don't trust the photographs on the web sites... many retailers show the new picture for the old model and/or the old picture for the new model.)
I emailed APC a few weeks ago to ask why they want to cause such confusion among the buying public... but received no answer to my email.
The buy.com service was excellent, as always. Good price, quick shipping, well packaged. (Buy.com was NOT the least expensive site I found, but I ordered from buy.com because the sites that were slightly less expensive had many complaints posted by other customers... I decided to stay with a trusted Internet source and ordered from buy.com, where I've never had a bad experience.) Was this review helpful?
