5 of 5 Good product as far as I can tell Monday, May 11, 2009 Mike from Tucson, AZ
Got this a couple of weeks back. Just plug your devices (including phone but not CAT5) and it's good to go. Has USB connectivity. Haven't had an outage yet so haven't seen it in action. Included software allows you to set threshold levels for various actions (hibernate, shut down computer etc.) but Vista and Windows 7 can do this natively through Power Plan settings. Win7 will also show battery status in the notification area of the task bar. All of this requires the USB cable to be plugged into the data part on the unit. You may want to install the software on the CD if you want to keep a log of incidents (outages, spikes) and tweak when backup power kicks in. Recommended. Was this review helpful?

I guess I was used to the previous models in that a USB port for signaling was built into the units. Only the models above this unit have that "option" now.
Just an FYI for those that are expecting that feature on this new model. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Instant Power Protection Thursday, January 08, 2009 CC from Arlington, TX
This is a no brainer. Plug in your devices. Protects from power surges. And you can't go wrong with APC. Includes ethernet and phone protection. Was this review helpful?
