I bought a mac mini hoping to install mythtv/vista media center. I was hoping to hook up a external eSATA 1 TB as the internal hard drive. The mini would never detect the hard drive to install onto. This computer detected it right away and allowed me to install everything I needed to onto the external hard drive.
I put a T8100 Intel processor and 2 Gb of ram and this computer works great as a media center computer.
If you are going to be installing Linux you may need to play around with the remote control because it does not have great support out of the box.
Windows media center is great though.
