I had a 19" Trinitron at home that just quit on me after many years of good service.
After having used several flat panel monitors at my job, I was not too thrilled at their lack of contrast and sharpness. So when I went shopping for a new monitor, that was one of the top things that I looked for. I spotted this one that was listed at 3000:1 contrast ratio. The reviews were really good on it, and it was refurbished. Now that is a bargain.
I'm a photographer so having a good monitor is extremely important to me. I love the big bright wide screen. After a bit of tweaking on the brightness/contract/gamma, I settled on a setting that was perfect for me. For some users, the lack of height and swivel adjustment may be a problem. For me It sits on my multi-tier computer desk at the perfect height so I do not have to do any adjustments ever.
I now watch DVD movies on it, and run PhotoShop, and check emails all at the same time. =) Was this review helpful?

I bought this monitor for my Mother who has a hard time lookig at a 17'' screen. She loved it. Now she can sit with her back against the chair while using the pc. It was silly simple to hook-up and set-up, ALLMOST idiot-proof. Ordered on 5-11 and I just received rebate check yesterday, that was fast. I just wish I waited a little bit longer to get her one, now theres an Envision TFT even cheaper than this one costs. But otherwise were all happy. Was this review helpful?

I Upgraded from a samsung 19" 941bw and this monitor has awesome color and graphics. I thought for the money it was not going to this good, but i highy reccomend it. And the 3 Year Warranty from AOC is worth it also. Only thing is it only has a VGA which works really well Was this review helpful?
