5 of 5 Too Good! Friday, May 02, 2008 nvm from Austin, TX
This item was out of stock from Buy.com but available through a marketplace seller, GPSCheap. The order processing and shipping of the item was almost immediate, although I expected the shipping carrier to be UPS like in case of all other Buy.com orders. Other than this little complaint, I am pretty staisfied with seller.
Regarding the adapter, the software installation was long but simple. I purchased the adapter to be able to use my Nokia 6230 with Nokia PC Suite. I was worried about compatibility, since my Nokia is slightly old and hence had Bluetooth 1.1. But the adapter worked flawlessly. I am happy with this purchase thus far and would definitely recommend it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 No More Wires Yippie!!! Friday, February 22, 2008 sir_onion from Pepperell Mass
My Anycom 250 works like a charm. I didn't have much of a problem at all. I would suggest downloading the updated drivers from the website instead of loading them from the cd. Saving you time and getting more value without having to uninstall what you loaded, because you are going to want to get the updated software if you intend to do more than just use it for skype or simple Headset to pc function. Anycom has a great tech support board. Most issues have been brought up and you can easily find common fixes. I have used the dongle to connect to my cell, pc and skype. For a class 1 adapter it's well worth the 15bucks paid for it. I would recommend this type for anyone using a pc or a mac. Great Value! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Value Tuesday, February 19, 2008 http://damon4.com from Westbury, NY
This product works well. It has the USB hub replacement profile in it. This means that Bluetooth keyboards and mice can work without Windows booted up. It has excellent range, about 4-5x more than the Bluetooth dongle that came with my Microsoft Elite Keyboard/Mouse. It has the A2DP stereo profile, the main reason I upgraded. I stream excellent audio to my Motorola S9 headphones now. I came across some minor problems that should not affect your buying decision, but perhaps they can smooth your use. First, to get bluetooth to work in Win Media player you have to select it in Media's options tool box. It's under 'speakers.' Second, you have to restart Media Player to get it to work. Third, I had a lot of static and interruptions until I unpaired my telephone from the bluetooth. My telephone was paired but not connected and I had to remove it. Was this review helpful?

My wife wanted the freedom of using her Motorola bluetooth headset with Skype instead of being teathered to her notebook computer with a bulky wired headset. Her Windows-XP computer didn't have the option of built-in bluetooth, so an external adapter was the only way for her to go. Buy.com's price for this Anycom adapter was the lowest I have found, so I bought two of them. It took me only a couple of minutes after popping in the installation CD to get this adapter working. It bonded with my wife's headset on the first try and sounds great. The built-in bluetooth adapter on my notebook computer (which is a different brand) cost me more than four times as much as this one, but doesn't work any better. This adapter is particularly good for road warriors because it's very small and lightweight. Was this review helpful?

This little gem works perfectly with Windows Vista. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the AnyCom site rather than using those that came with the device. Installation and configuration has been very easy and I've had no issues with the device.
I have this paired with my Motorola H700 BT headset and can walk around the office freely with no voice distortion, no hissing, no crackling, etc. I'm no longer tethered by cords and couldn't be happier. :-)

This item was a total disappointment. I purchased this usb bluetooth adapter, because i wanted my bluetooth phone to be used as a tethered modem. My blackberry works with a usb cable, but not the bluetooth. Practically anything i want to do with this bluetooth in terms of connectivity simply does not work. Was this review helpful?

I have a new Dell Laptop with WINDOWS VISTA. Hard to find a USB Bluetooth adapter that is Vista compatable.....Anycom came through with flying colors ! Warning, if you have Vista, DO NOT load the software that comes with the adapter. Go to the Anycom website and load the drivers there for Vista. I made the mistake of loading the packaged software first, and I had to un-install it and start all over again. The adapter works flawlessly with my HP 460wbt wireless printer. A great product, and finally something that works with Vista ! Was this review helpful?

Before the anycom 250, I bought a similar knockoff but the "10m" range was really 10 inches. This "100m" works ok up to 5-10m max, so never buy one with minimum.... I bought this though for x64 support after reading and researching. HOwever, my x64 build, very new, did not allow the COM port to be created. I cannot synch with other PDA's due to that. Disappointed. Headset support is fine, but not serial port. Not as easy setup and use as Bluesoleil oddly. But it works using the MS stack and utilities sorta ok. Was this review helpful?

It's pretty simple to setup and use. Once you load the software and install the usb device, it will find any Bluetooth enabled device. I'm very satisfied Was this review helpful?

I have a Creative headset (using A2DP) and an Ipaq that I wanted to connect to my non-bluetooth laptop. With this device, I was able to get all three talking in a short time. Sound quality is great on the headset and the data transfer for the sync of my ipaq is screaming fast. I did a lot of research before my purchase and I didn't find anything better. Installed the drivers...plugged it into my laptop...put phone in pairing mode...laptop asked to pair and asked code...connected and just plain works!!!! This has amazing range and for the price I am picking up another one for main computer to be able to sych at home and at work. I even had a fellow co-worker ask if I had a bluetooth device and he saw it from 50ft away with the USB dongle in a metal cabinet!!! I asked if he could connect and with the drivers on my laptop set to only pair with "approved" devices he could not until I allowed it. Don't wait just get this dongle!!! Was this review helpful?
