5 of 5 The best case I've owned Wednesday, January 28, 2009 Sean Lawrence from LosAngeles, CA
I love the Antec Skeleton case. The advantages of this case are not immediately obvious. Many will be concerned about dust, but that is the reason that I bought this case. The processors for the Intel Core 2's, etc., have a bad habit of clogging up with dust and you can't see it! Performance starts bogging down as the processor attempts to keep itself cool. I tossed the stock CPU cooler and added a huge fanless Cooler Master GeminII. The huge 8" fan above the board is virtually silent, keeps everything cool and the light show is fun. This is the quietest case that I own.
The skeleton is kind of strange looking (LAX theme restaurant), but you get used to it. It isn't something that you want to put under a desk. The accesibility is excellent, very well thought out. A small quiet fan on the drives. The only thing that I would change is the drive layout. There is only room for 2 internally, the rest have to hang on the outside of the case. (they will stay cool!)
Great case, highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 First impressions aren't everything Wednesday, January 28, 2009 A Customer from Saint Charles, MO
The first thing everyone says when they see it, "Wow! What is that?" It's got bling, that's for sure. Not only is the skeletal case design sweet and a break from the norm but the MASSIVE (I can't understate that) LED lighted fan that glides through various colors and patterns (due to the variable rotation of the fan) draws you in so you just stare at the thing.
Once it's all put together, it's a dream; easy to move, solid construction, everything accessible. But...that's once it's all put together.
It's not that assembly is especially difficult, screw in the mobo here, the PSU there, a couple HDD's over there, yada, yada...but the fit is surprisingly difficult and cramped. The PSU mounts at an awkward angle causing all your cabling (especially if not modular PSU) to be crammed into a tiny area that then requires you to fish the cords through narrow gaps between the seems and components. The extra 4 pin power to the ATX mobo ever so barely made it. Be prepared for some scraped knuckles. Or better yet, this would be a good time to walk a 9 year old through lessons of cabling.
All-in-all, a beautiful, fresh concept case (on the pricey side) that showcases your gear with bling and glitz. Just don't expect it to act as that accessible workbench case for lots of part swapping. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This Case is Hottt!!! Wednesday, December 10, 2008 Victor from Virginia Beach, Virginia
This is the first case that made me say wow. At first I didn't think it would be strong enough to stand up. But not is it strong enough but its so much easier to move around than traditional cases. Even transferring my original system was simple.Just pay attention to what you are doing because it doesn't come with the greatest instructions. You can access them online though. I'm going to buy another one of these for my next computer.Awesome Case!!! Was this review helpful?
