Works exactly as described - I've definitely noticed a cooling of the temperature. It cools quietly and efficiently and is small enough as to be easily portable. Raising the computer an extra inch even seems to facilitate typing. Not losing a USB port is a good plus (it takes one but gives one). I recommend this cooling fan very much. This is the third type of notebook cooler that I have purchased and by far this is the best one. I have a 17" HP laptop with a 512 MB video card that gets extremely HOT after a couple hours of playing games. This cooler helps keep it much cooler. Highly recommended if you have a laptop that gets extremely hot. The only downside is that you can't use this cooler and have the laptop on your lap at the same time. It's designed to be placed on a flat surface like a desk or table, but it works great!
NOTE: I noticed on the video, that the guy has the whole laptop placed on top of the cooler. That's not how it's supposed to be set up. Per the instructions, the two fans are actually along the back side of the laptop and the back edge of the laptop is placed on the two black pads of the cooler. The fans draw cool air in and the air flows under the laptop keeping the bottom cool. This worked better for me than how they showed it on the video. Was this review helpful?

I just got this a few days ago, and I like the way it works alot. The 2 speed fan is a bonus ,low speed is almost silent and the high speed is not much louder than the average desktop. I had previously puchased the larger Antec Chill Mat , which also worked great but it raised the height of the laptop which made typing more uncomfortable. The great thing about the smaller unit is that it's shaped like a wedge and when it's in place it raises the keyboard to a more comfortable position, and that was the main reason I switched , I have never liked typing on a laptop, this really makes a difference in comfort and it cools the laptop very well..A good value that works.. It's quite troublesome to put the notebook on top of it since need to be on the right position. If not will cause the notebook to be imbalance. The coolong system is so-so. Does not help cooling the laptop quite well. the good things is the cooler make a quite ergonomic position for the notebook so it's easier to type. Not suitable to put it on the lap.
