5 of 5 Versatile case Wednesday, September 03, 2008 A Customer from Canton, IL
I got this case in a sale around a month back, and I have to say, it wasn't what I expected. It is only slightly smaller than your average mid-tower, and it has space for up to 5 hard drives without using a 3.5 to 5.25 tray. Overall, I was confused as to why it could not be designed to take a full ATX board instead of just MATX. That is until I checked out the case in detail.
The massive 200mm can takes up a good amount of the top, and the tray between the lower 1/3 and motherboard enclosure takes up the rest.
But don't get me wrong, it is a minor drawback that it can't take a full ATX board when you look at the quality of this case. Multi-layered sides, filters at all intake locations (3), and the most modular design I've seen for a case this size. I haven't had a chance to finish my build, but the fans that it comes with are almost silent. This PC is built to be quiet, as the case is multi-layered to muffle any noise inside.
What is also great about this case is that you can take out the bottom hard drive bay to put in a full size videocard. So all you GTX260/280 and HD4870 users can use these as a great gaming/HTPC.
So, overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this case, and at Buy.com's amazingly fast shipment to my house with the "cheap" shipping.
Being limited to a MATX board Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Phenomenal Performance and Style Friday, August 29, 2008 Judd from Sherman, Texas
When you take this case out of the box you know you have a very solid item in your hands. It has sound construction and good looks. The adjustable speed 200mm and 120mm fans keep everything running cool. The airflow in this case is very sufficient. All my components fit neatly and all the necessary screws and bays were included. The design of the case allows for several wiring options to keep things looking tidy. The gunmetal exterior adds +6 to style. Highly functional product with ability to customize with additional fans, lights, drives, etc. I'm incredibly satisfied with this purchase. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Too Big for Too Little Saturday, August 23, 2008 Chuck from Phila, PA
Pros: Quiet due to the large fan on top and insulated walls. Great cable management, you can route the cable on the underside of the motherboard just like the large towers do. Front door folds all the way back.
Cons: An expensive motherboard for only a Micro ATX and all the expensive motherboards are ATX. If the top fan starts making noise, how do you replace the non-standard fan?
Overall: I bought it on sale for a PC that you would shove under a desk and never touch. Thats all its really good for. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice case, great wire management, little flimsy Saturday, June 21, 2008 Rocky from San Francisco, CA
This was the case I used to build my first computer. This case has great air ventilation and awesome wire management. Lots of room even with a gigantic Zalman CPU cooler. The only downfall is the tool less hardware for the dvd drive. Mine doesn't sit properly and is not flush. It works so I can deal with it. The other thing is the door. The spine and hinges are made of plastic so a little pressure on it made it snap. However, one call to Antec support and I have a replacement coming my way. Great customer service!!!
All in all, I would recommend this case highly. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 P182 Mini Wednesday, April 09, 2008 A Customer from Dallas TX
I purchased this case for a quiet and cool media PC. In that regard it is excellent, both cooler and quieter than my Lian-Li A350. The only negative to this case is that it is quite cramped when it comes to wiring mostly due to the bottom location of the PSU. I recommend a good modular PSU for use with this case. Other than that it is a great case and Buy.Com has a great price on it. Was this review helpful?
