this is the book to read. Anita's insight into the animal world and how our animals communicate with us is wonderful. My relationship with my dog, Stuart, was so much better after I began to communicate with him in a way that he would understand. (e.g. "Stuart, I will be back after dinnertime, after dark, but before bedtime"). Before this, he would howl and pace until I got back and my husband was ready to ring his little neck. Stuart thought that I was gone for good and once he understood that I was coming back, all was well. I esp like the stories of real situations that are throughout the book.
