4 of 5 Im a fan. Monday, October 20, 2008 Cameron from Minnesota
I tried to be true and fair in my 1-5 scale grading but i really love this series. If you liked buffy, you WILL like angel. i know two friends that think Angel is better than buffy. My other friends and myself beleive Angel is EQUAL to buffy in quality, humor, action, and storyline.
As for the box set specifically. Its okay. I thought it was alot bigger than it actually is. I have it in front of me but i dont have a ruler. Its ABOUT 6"x6"x6" it has all the disks in it tho. basically your spending 100 dollars for every episode of angel and not alot more. You know those cd cases that are extra thin? theyre still hard plastic but theyre about half the thickness? well its basically just thiry of those stacked ontop of one another then put in a fancy little box. Im glad i bought it but if your a super nerd who wants to be "Cool" because you have a special edition box set of angel. This is not the one. Btw i say that because that was the idea i had when i bought it. i thought it was like 1'x1'x1' but it was not. its shorter than a dvd. theres a neat little letter from Joss inside tho. emphasis on little. But hey, Buy it anyway!!! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 A worthy spinoff to Buffy that stands on its own! Tuesday, April 22, 2008 A Viewer from Houston, Texas
Angel: The Series picks up after season 3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with the vampire-with-a-soul Angel striking off on his own to L.A. helping the helpless. This series takes a different spin on the "Buffyverse" theme of saving the world by Angel and his team usually helping individuals in need of protection from demonic forces instead of fighting a cataclysmic evil as Buffy often does.
Angel is a conflicted character who has a dark past and strives to do good, while knowing he can never achieve true happiness. By bringing in several familiar faces from Buffy (even Spike in Season 5!) this series maintains a stong tie to the mythos of its predecessor, but can also be viewed on its own. The plots are frequently interwoven and serialized, so it may be confusing for someone jumping around or starting in the middle of the series, but starting with Season 1 and not having seen Buffy should not be a problem for new viewers.
Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?
