    Installed this card on a portable computer running Windows XP. I didn't even need to use the provided install CD. Within seconds of installing the card in the computer it was connected to our Linksys router and everything was working great.

    5 of 5 Dell Axim X5 Use Friday, January 11, 2008

    I purchased this after the Socket P500 Go! Wi-Fi CF Card ($91.15 from Dell) would not work with my Axim X5 running Windows PC 2003. The Ambicom WL54-CF installed without a glitch. The only real problem is that with Windows PC 2003 you cannot set it for WPA security (You need 2003SE-not available for the Axim X5). It must run on WEP. My 'at home' wired network's Linksys Access point is set to run on WPA and I encountered numerous problems trying to get both my laptop AND my PPC to function while on WEP. Mostly issues with my laptop 'going catatonic'. I never called Linksys to resolve the issue (I have TSP-Tech Support Phobia). However, the Axim X5 with the Ambicom wireless card works perfect at Wi-Fi hotspots around my area. A definite must have.
