Great sounding speakers. I compared them to others at a Best Buy store and these sounded the best for its price range. $75-$99. I have had them now for 7 months and still love them. Wife likes them too. The bass is so powerful I have to turn it down so not to wake our 1 year old baby sleeping! Try to buy this same model, because on the newer designed models,the volume controls are designed differently (buttons) than the knobs on these. The knobs are easier to turn up/down.

I got it for a good deal. It has got enough power to enjoy good movies and music. The downward firing speaker really vibrates the desk as the sound travels.

Altec Lanseing is is one the respectable names in sound equipment and these speakers are no let down. They're sleak and have excellent crisp sound.

Great infact! I've had them for about a month or so and everything is quite clear and loud. Exactly what they need to be. No cracking in the sound at high volumes.. Altec Lansing is a QUALITY company.

I have had my set of these for a month or so. I want to tell you I was amazed. And I shopped around and around. The one thing that I have to say is don't go by how they sound in the store like Best Bye. I compared them to several top of the line Bose. The Bose didn't didn't make it.. For 3 piece system I personally would go right out and bye another set if I found myself needing more speakers.

I have purchased two of these speakers. One is in my office the other is on a home computer. I love the sound of the speakers and Altec Lansing has gotten it right. The only problem I have found is: if you need to turn the volume up and down frequestly. You have to get up to adjust from the speaker control (buttons). I wish they could have made a pair with a remote. But, I still love the speakers and they sound good, I would not give them up. Thanks Buy.com for selling me second ones.

If you're looking for some speakers that have a nice low and high range for an economical price, then look no further. Easy to use and with controls at your fingertips. You don't have to go through the computer to adjust volume. I've had some like this in the past. That gets really old. Nice response in the low and high registers. Not much is missing in the middle register, but if your a serious musician looking for serious music from your computer, I'd suggest shelling out some more money for a high end speaker system. But for those of us that are budget conscious, you can't beat this system.

Subject pretty much sums it up. The only quirk you may consider is that the bass is a little too loud. I live above and below neighbors with newborns so I have to keep them in consideration. Highs are crisp and bass is there even with volume at 30% and bass turned down to 50%. Definately a good buy

Though no computer speakers can rival a stereo, these PC speakers definitely enhance your multimedia experience. If you want to upgrade the sound on your PC for a comparitively reasonable price, try these speakers.

i listen to mosly rock and some other stuff and these speakers fulfill every possible area that i can think of. awesome base. only something like 30 watts of continuous power but it sounds like a lot more. i have a 500 watt system that sounds no better than these speakers. awesome buy, best 2.1 setup you can get

With the low price I wasn't really expecting anything that could re-verb the walls - but this little beauty does it at only half bass level and less than mid volume! Great style! The speakers have a very small foot print, the sub-woofer is typical size. So much sound for so few $$'s. I highly recommend this! I was thinking of replacing my sound card, but now - no need! Clear sound, no feedback or funky sounds like cheep ones normally do.

I am sold!!! - just due to the fact that everyone raves about these speakers!!! As a student in college and on a budget, space is limited!! I think Buy.com is awesome and as with all purchases I know this one will also be flawless.

I ordered the speakers on Friday's afternoon at 3pm because the price was only $.05 more than Amazon's, but free shipping. On Saturday morning, there was a loud knock at the door. I was expecting my mattress topper, but I still haven't received the tracking # via email yet. I couldn't believe that it was the speakers, shipped from CA. I'm glad that I didn't choose to pay $14.94 for standard shipping when budget shiping was free. I wonder if the package would come any sooner if I paid for standard shipping; now that would be THE WAY to buy on the Internet.

I've had a set of these for about a year and they sound as great as ever. I'm about to buy another pair for my work computer! I highly recommend these speakers, especially at this price!

Just Received the speakers.Took longer to get out of the box then to hook-up.Was totally amazed by the sound coming from the speakers. Sounds fantastic and such a bargain for the money spent.Would have no problem telling a friend to buy a set.

I went through all the speaker system that Buy.com has to offer & I settle for this one. Based on the reviews of happy customers who opt for this system, I went ahead & ordered it. It only took about three days to received & best of all it's free shipping. This is definitely one of the best system Altec Lansing has ever put out. The sound is pure exhiliratimg & very pleasing to even a consumer of discriminating taste. The highs, medium & lows are unbelieveably crisp & true to life. I had a pair of Altec Lansing w20. It's good so I took to my office and I bought this one. Gosh, it's much better than w20. The sound is so clear and the boom box shakes my desk. I love any Altec Lansing speakers.

I have had these for 2 years now and I am still amazed with the sound quality. IMO they may not be the most accurate sounding speakers (due to the downward firing midrange), but they have a very enjoyable and musical sound quality to them. I have no kids or cats so I carefully removed the thick plastic grills over the midrange drivers for an even better sounding sytem. I used very sharp pointed wire cutters and carefully cut through the plastic grill spines along their outer edges. Since the speakers face downward I am not worried about damaging them, however if you do this, it will void the warranty. Another suggestion would be the Harmen Karden Soundstick II's, they cost double the Altec Lansing's, and lack some usefull features but they too sound fantastic and are more accurate sounding IMO.

First off, let me start out by saying buy.com is the best place to shop and save ($40 cheaper than Best Buy)! I placed my order late Wednesday afternoon and got it on Friday morning... quick delivery! These speakers are the best 2.1's out there. Period. Deep bass, clean highs, the sound is spectacular! Easy install and great design. There were more expensive ones out there that "looked" better, but these by far are the best. My next move is to buy 2 more of these... one for my Playstation 2/DVD player and one for the family computer. GET THESE!!!

I am audio enthusiast, and favor alternative, classical,some hiphop, and watch movies on pc, and believe me this system ROCKS! Clarity and balance equal to, much better look, but less power than bulky Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system, absolute in sound 3-piece pc-spks, winner of many awards. Altec ATP3's actually sound better than Bose Companion 3 which sells for $249. Awesome midrange come from 3.5" driver built in base of each satelite. Slim sat design fits nice in pair with LCD monitor, where Klipsch bulky sats fit better with CRTs. Bose Companion3 is nice too, but well overpriced.

I purchased the Bose Companion 3 system for $250, and they sounded great, and were very small, but then a friend of mine showed me his altec lansing speakers. They sounded almost as good, with great bass. Although they are a bit larger, the sound is comparable, and the cost is insane. these speakers can hang with the bose system that i ended up returning for these. BUY THEM! They are great

Altec Lansing has definitely hit a homerun with these multimedia satellite speakers. They just don’t look good, they sound awesome! Another proof that bigger doesn't always mean better. These speakers are definitely a legitimate contender to the Bose Companion 3 for the fraction of the cost. I auditioned them side by side at a local store and the only difference I noticed was the tag price, $250 compared to $100. The sound quality is rich and it adequately fills a mid size room with crisp highs, clear mids and nice and tight lows. You would find yourself turning the volume higher and higher as distortion is non existent at any level. I love the sleek stylish look, fit and finish. The design will surely compliment any desktop furniture. The volume, treble, bass and power controls are conveniently located on the right speaker. There is also a blue LED light power indicator on top of the control panel and a headphone jack that is discretely located on the side of the speaker. Another bonus is the pinpoint accuracy adjustment of the controls, which is something you won’t find in this price range. Especially now that it can be had for about $70. If you are still deciding, stop and buy it already! You won’t regret it. Bottom line, this set of speakers will outperform any speaker in its category. They are TRULY AMAZING!

I am an audiophile, and I was a bit skeptical about these because of the size and excellent price on buy.com. Boy I am sure glad I bought them, clear crisp highs and really decent bass, unless you crank them up to ear splitting volume they just sound GREAT. I own Infinity Kappas, and they sound really close up to high volume, no kidding! Can't go wrong at less than 100 bucks. I am really impressed. Way to go Altec!!!
