    5 of 5 Great! Friday, May 29, 2009
    A Customer from Sterling, VA

As per some of the other reviews I read on this product, these speakers work great! For $40 you can't beat them. I only needed them for a smaller room so I didn't need anything like my z-5300 in another room. The only thing I wish was that the cables for the speakers were longer. I have to go to radio shack to get some m/f rca cables to extend them. I have not had any problems with cell phones but I don't have a GSM phone.

5 of 5 Much better than expected. Very Happy!!! Tuesday, May 05, 2009
A Customer from Bunker Hill, WV
After reading some of the reviews, I was nervous about the purchase due to the their comments about static noise. I do not hear any static and my speakers sound great. I really like the remote and the control at your finger tips. The bass sounds really good and having the treble controls on the remote is nice. The remote can also be connected as a microphone and has an aux input. For the money, these speakers outperform.

5 of 5 Work Great with iPhone Thursday, April 23, 2009
    Matthew from Brenham, TX
I got to these to work with my iPhone. I have them outside for entertaining purposes. Works great for this, they are cheap enough so that I do not have to worry about expensive equipment being damaged. The value is excellent, sound almost as good as my Boston Acoustics set that I have inside the house (cost more than twice as much as the Altec Lansing). I highly recommend these speakers for pretty much anything you want to do with them.

    greg from orting wa.
I was totally amazed! A friend had told me over the phone to check out these speakers.I did not get to hear them but took his word for it that they sounded good. I bought them hooked them up and what a surprise. I did not think you could that kind of sound for that kind of price.

    5 of 5 Great Value Monday, March 09, 2009
A Customer from Lords Valley, PA
Even though these speakers aren't shielded and will produce a hum if you are on a wireless phone, everything else about these speakers shout wonderful. The sound is really good throughout the highs and lows and the cords are long enough to place them where you want.

4 of 5 Good PC Speaker with issues Wednesday, January 28, 2009
A Customer from Old Bridge NJ
A decent sounding system. I would never really expect great sound from any pc speaker system. One issue that all people should know about this PC speaker system. The volume control pad has a built in microphone that gets feedback anytime I use my cordless phone or cell phone when next to the PC. Have to shut the sound off or walk away from PC when using either phone. Called Altec and they informed that they are aware of this issue, but there is nothing they could do to fix it.

5 of 5 Super speakers for a super low price! Monday, January 26, 2009
    Michael R from Hercules, California
These Altec Lansing speakers were more than I ever thought they would be for the price I got them at. I have only had the problem once with the speakers picking up static from my cell phone. Other then that, I haven't experienced any static pick up from anything else. They were on sale for $39.99 when I got them. I got the bang for my buck as the sub can really rock the house. I would have to say that they are on par with my Harmon/Kardon speakers that I have with the clear sub. Only difference is that they cost $113 for those. These speakers are just as good as any expensive set out there, but for a bargain price. Love them all the way!!!

4 of 5 Good system for PC. Minor problem Saturday, January 24, 2009
    A Customer from Dallas, TX
I like the system. Sounds is great. Minor problem - it picks up the noise from radiowaves, especially from a cell phones. If you have a working cellphone (blackberry pearl in my case) next to speaker - there is a very loud crackling.

    5 of 5 Very good 2.1-channel Speaker System Thursday, January 01, 2009
A Customer from Ellicott City, MD
I recently bought ALTEC LANSINGVS2421 2.1 channel speakers and they really sound good with lots and lots of bass. The sound clarity is good and crystal clear. There isn’t any distortion even at high sound/volume. The bad side of this system is that it picks up the radio frequency. I bought this system for $38 and I am impressed with the sound it creates and good value for money.

    5 of 5 Great Sound Saturday, December 13, 2008
    A Customer from NJ
I purchased this for my girl friend. She never knew a computer could sound like a home system. If you are up grading from the speakers that came with your computer or had no speakers at all; these speakers will rock you. The bass is impressive and sound out of the small speakers are great. I don't regret this purchase.

5 of 5 Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just the best Saturday, October 25, 2008
Jasdeep Singh Malhotra (jaydee from Blacksburg,VA
I had cambridge soundworks (creative) 2.1 at home before owning these. When I shifted to college I looked on internet for compact and high performance speakers and of corse not to expensive. I saw many positive reviews for this item and also it's brandname was a trusted one,so I bought one for 40 bucks. But I had full value for money. These speakers really rock. I manages all sorts of genres really superbly and I highly recommend these for anyone who is confused in 2.1 segment.

4 of 5 Great 2.1 Speaker set for the price Tuesday, June 24, 2008
    A Customer from Erie, PA
Bought these to replace a smaller set of Altec Lansing 2.1 Speakers. These sit in a bookshelf nook in my office, connected to my Sonos player. Sound is great, Bass response is very nice. Having the wired remote to control volume is a great feature, as well as the aux in, which I use to connect my laptop. Nice speakers, esp given the price.

4 of 5 Great sound, Perfect for what I wanted Saturday, March 01, 2008
    A Customer from Oregon
I was looking for replacement speakers for my home computer. I've become spoiled with my home theater system's sound and I had pretty nice speakers in my computer room before they quit working. I listen to Pandora.com while on the computer and occasionally I will plug in my mp3 player. These have great sound for the price. If I'd expected them to be the 'Best' then I'd have purchased a much more expensive set. I'm quite happy with nice treble and warm base. The control unit is also nice as it has an aux plug to plug in my mp3 player, a headset plug and even a built in mic (the cord to plug the mic from the controller to the computer isn't included). They look nice and take up very little space on the desk.

5 of 5 Good sound, great value Thursday, November 29, 2007
Dr. D. from Gig Harbor, WA
This set of speakers plus sub-woofer was a breeze to set up and makes the music on my laptop a match for CDs on our stereo. How Altec Lansing managed to make these speakers sound this good for so little money is a mystery to me but they did. The bass can be adjusted -- to whatever level of boominess you like (or no boominess) -- as can the treble. The mid-range is fine as long as the high and low ends are set right. The volume control-headphone-mic input is a nice touch and works just as it should. The only problem we had was a loud hum on our cordless phone. Moving the phone base station further away took care of that. We'll buy another set like this one for our second computer. We really like these speakers!

2 of 5 Great speakers but suffer from radio interferance Wednesday, November 28, 2007
    MR from PA
The speakers sound great with rich bass. However they suffer from radio interference. In my case I can hear a radio station no matter what volume I set them to. I tried them in several places in the house, same issue. Aluminum foil on the cord that connects the control to the subwoofer seems to help a little. Needless to say, my other Altec Lansing speaker pair (6 years old) work just fine.
