Altec Lansing Orbit MP3 Portable Speaker System - IM237

This thing really livens up the bathroom...I gave one to my wife as she always has to plug her mp3 player into the main stereo in the family room, and then jack up the volume so she can hear it while she gets ready in the bathroom/bedroom (chicks!). Anyway, we have this sitting on the vanity, and her little Sansa Clip really pumps out the sound through it. The cord wraps around the bottom, and it came with a carry case. She loves it.

Compact, easy to use, and very acceptable sound quality given its size. Perfect for travel (keep it in the carry-on bag and ready to go!), and can't beat the price!

For a speaker this size, the performance is amazing. Sound quality is fine even at high volumes. Works well with my iPod Touch and MacBook Pro. It's great for taking on the road for listening or for delivering slide shows. Excellent value for the price. Two nits: If you're a big bass fan, this isn't your speaker. Of course, you shouldn't expect strong deep bass from a speaker this small. It does, however, perform well from low-mids through highs. The other nit is more important: the speaker's power button is easy to accidentally hit when the speaker's in its case, which of course wears out the battery. I wish Altec had used a slide switch instead of push button.

The sound from this speaker is very impessive. It is a little bigger than simular speakers but for the much better sound and volume output is is well worth it. I like that it came with a case and the cord stores niceley when it is not in use.
