5 of 5 Should have bought more than 1....... Saturday, March 29, 2008
Jennifer from Maple Shade, New Jersey

i SO wish I had bought more than one of this unit - I got it at an AMAZING PRICE. I think WITH TAX AND SHIPPING I paid $52. My husband had bought me the EXACT same dock from COMP USA for 139.99 plus tax - needless to say I returned that I bought this - waited till the buy.com arrived to make sure they were the same - which they were! Again - at THAT price - I should have bought more - one for the office - one for the travel trailer - etc. AWESOME SOUND - LOVE IT!

5 of 5 These speakers are wonderful! Monday, March 10, 2008
    A Customer from Houston, Tx
After receiving a promotional email about these speakers, I decided to purchase them for my children. I was amazed at the clarity these speakers offered. Set up was easy and they have been working well since Christmas with no issues.

It fits - you just have to be smarter than the dock. Angle it in and works fine.

    4 of 5 Best $50 I have spent in a while Tuesday, February 26, 2008
    Jamie M from Medina, Ohio
For the price, this is the best solution there is for the Zune. The sound it remarkably good. Decent bass response and nice high end. The remote is a nice touch even though you cannot totally control the Zune with it. You can however, switch songs forward and back and adjust the sound and volume levels. We took this on vacation with us and used at our condo in Florida. Easy to pack up and sets up in seconds. Looking forward to using outdoors this summer on our deck.

1 of 5 Does not work with Zune 80 Tuesday, February 19, 2008
    freud3000 from Youngstown OH
The Zune 80 does not fit in the port, so don't waste your money. The Zune 30 fits quite nicely, but if you own the 80 you're simply out of luck.

    4 of 5 Great Product Friday, January 25, 2008
    jglasscock from Covington, LA.
A must-have for all zune/ipod users. Speaker delivers the quality of sound you would expect from a high-dollar stereo system. The price was around $85 dollars for the speaker, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

    5 of 5 Nearly Perfect... Saturday, January 19, 2008
    Mikael R. from Denver, CO
I've been purchasing Altec Lansing speakers for my PCs for years. In my experience, they are often the best quality for the price. When I found this deal on Buy.com for Altec Lansing speakers for my Zune, I bought two. One for me and one for my wife. They work and sound great! The only flaw that I found was that even though the system comes with a remote, it doesn't control the music if you haven't selected a playlist first. So you have to touch the Zune initially to select your music. I think that if you are going to offer a remote at all, it should be fully functional. That and the fact that it has a mini-USB port for syncing your Zune but it doesn't come with a cable for it. Other than that, the speakers are feature packed, sound excellent, and were purchased at an unbelievable price. If the two things I mentioned won't bother you too much, then you will definitely enjoy using this product from Altec Lansing! Keep an eye out for sales, I made off with two of these puppies at over 50% off each.

    5 of 5 Excellent product Thursday, January 17, 2008
    CK from Pacific NW
Very impressive for the money. I was actually looking for a charger when I found this item. So for the money you can charge and listen to your Zune all in 1 product. And you can control it from across the room with the remote control! Sound quality is decent. Very similar to a Bose wave radio. Overall this was a good purchase!

    4 of 5 Great sound Wednesday, January 16, 2008
    A Customer from Kokomo, IN
I love everything about my speaker system for my zune. The only thing I don't like is that when you hit the power off button on top or on the remote the zune keeps playing. I guess I am just so use the my old ipod system that I can't stand it but other then that its great.

    5 of 5 Careful with Gen 2 Zunes Wednesday, January 16, 2008
    John B. from Sevierville, TN
This product is great. I wanted something I could leave on my desk at work. This works perfectly. The only thing I would change is I would like to have an insert that goes with my 80GB Gen 2 Zune. It comes with an adapter that perfectly fits Gen 1s, but not Gen 2.

5 of 5 Great for the price Monday, January 14, 2008
    A Customer from Orlando, FL
The speakers sound and work good. I got ample bass from them, i noticed others writing it was a little hollow. Also, the remote works good I can change the volume and scroll to the next song without any issues. I read some people saying they could only get it to work with the volume. Overall a good set for the price. ~45 when I got it.

5 of 5 A lot of bang for your buck!! Monday, January 14, 2008
    A Customer from Sacramento, CA
I bought this for work and it fit the bill perfectly. It sounds great and so convenient. If you turn the bass and volume all the way up the speakers will knock. A subwoofer IS needed if you want strong low frequencies. These only go down to about 60hz or so. But they are perfect for the workplace.

5 of 5 Best accessory for Zune Monday, January 14, 2008
A Customer from New York, NY
If there is one thing you want to buy after buying your Zune, this is it. I wish there are more accesories that support the Zune which is so much better than ipod. Thanks Altec Lansing for making this product.

OK I enjoy my Zune but until I got this docking station it wasn't used much in the home. Having a good sounding docking station has been nice. I use and listen to my Zune a lot more now that I can dock it and enjoy it in the home. Great value and great product!!

5 of 5 Good value for the money Monday, January 14, 2008
A Customer from Napa Valley, California
This is easy to set up and use. I didn't realize, however, that the power supply cord comes with a protective cap over the end, which made me wonder why it didn't function at first! The unit limits how high the volume can be turned up, so if you want something really loud, this may not be the one for you. I love the fact that you can use not only Zune, but any other MP3 (I used an iPod) or audio source with this unit. A very short cord and an auxiliary jack is supplied for this purpose. Overall, a great value for what I paid.

I love this speaker system!! It was nice to find something that was compatable with the Zune. I also liked the fact that Buy.com sent me an e-mail letting me know this was on sale (I bought my Zune here). I would have never known if they wouldn't have sent me an e-mail and I would missed out on a great deal. Thanks Buy.com!!!

4 of 5 Remote does not do what is expected. Friday, January 11, 2008
    A Customer from Brick NJ
I gave the performance a 3 because the features said that it could ff, rev, stop & play but i can't seem to get it to control my zune, mabee I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out. Other than that the speakers play very good sound level is good and bass and trebble are good, I like it besides the remote drawbacks. Arival from buy.com was fast.

    5 of 5 Great Sound Thursday, January 10, 2008
    Ben from Lexington, SC
The speakers sound great and it looks great too. The only thing I'm running into is that when I turn on the radio on the Zune it omits static real bad. I have to take it off to hear the radio. I wish you could control the Zune with the remote more than just switching between tracks and volume, because I have my speakers on a shelf and you have to get up to switch it to video's or music or radio. But I like it.

    5 of 5 Great Sounds Thursday, January 10, 2008
    edge7 from Houston, TX
I ended up buying 2 of these, one for my office and the other to move around the house. I'm most impressed by the sound quality and how easy it is to use with my Zune. Even with the unit "off", my Zune will wirelessly sync no matter where it is in the house, and stay charged up. I have a good stereo system with speakers throughout the major rooms, but I use this in the kitchen, bathroom, out by the pool etc. Did I mention it Sounds Great?

    5 of 5 #1 for Value - #1 in Quality Wednesday, January 09, 2008
    Les from Long Beach, CA
I reluctantly got this for my daughter so she can have a docking station for her room. Reluctantly because I was unsure of the quality due to the low price. After listening to the sound, WOW! Bose can't touch this for the price and added features! It's on my own want list now that I can appreciate the quality! It's not documented but it also charges your Zune when it's docked so it's a very neat package to keep your Zune organized on your desk! Great job Altec Lansing! You did this right! And Kudos also to Buy.com for getting this to me very quickly!!! Win-win on this one!

4 of 5 Very good for the price Wednesday, January 09, 2008
    chance from Saint Petersburg, FL
I purchased this speaker system when it was on sale with free shipping for $50.00. This was definitely a steal. Even for 90-100 bucks though, this system is a good value. It is easy to use, sounds decent, and even comes with a little remote. No the remote doesn't have advanced navigation capabilities, and I would say the treble is a little weak even boosted to max, but overall it gets the job done for a good price.

5 of 5 This is THE best sounding ipod/mp3 docking stat Monday, January 07, 2008
Dan the Man from San Diego
Once I got my M604 I returned my Athena iVoice which sounded pretty good but was all plastic and had no bass/treble controls...it also had little stereo separation. This M604 sounds very much better. and has nice heft and reeks of quality. It just kicks ass! I've looked at the Bose Soundock for $299 which also lacks bass/treble and is comparable to the Athena iVoice (which sells for 39.95 at Costco). Folks this M604 is hands down better than the Bose too. They also make the identical M602 which is for iPods.

    5 of 5 Excellent find Sunday, January 06, 2008
    Brad from Oklahoma City, OK
I found this system to be great. I also didn't find the distortion issues previously mentioned. But, I don't play them at maximum volume level. They get plenty loud enough for me. The sound is exceptional for a system this size and the price was unbelievable. I highly recommend this system and Buy.com!!! I also received them very quickly.

This is a amazing speaker system!! The appearence , the quality of the sound, and the ease of usage makes this product a must have if you have a Zune.(my opinion)I was a tad bit dissapointed that my DLO case would not work with it, but once off, the Zune fit perfecly and it filled my room with AmAzInG SoUnD!

    5 of 5 Works with 4, 8, and 80gb too Friday, January 04, 2008
    A Customer from Minneapolis, MN
Just received this after buying my 80GB zune. I had read reviews saying it was not compatible with the new versions. This is far from the truth. It works great, and charges the Zune as well, which some said it did not. The sound quality is good for a 1 room application. Decent bass for the size of the system, and I would recommend this product to anyone as a great replacement for the wall charger as well.

3 of 5 Looks nice but... odd set of features or lack of t Friday, January 04, 2008
Mike L from Lake Oswego, OR
Not a whole lot of Zune accessories out there and for $45 that I paid for this I suppose it is ok. Here's the oddness of this unit: Line in - There is no way to select line in over using the Zune. If there is something plugged in, it overrides the Zune. I was hoping there was a select switch but there isn't. USB Connect - The connector is on the back of the unit. Ok, if you have it plugged in you can't use Zune and there is no switch to disconnect it from you PC. I understand when the Zune is connected to the PC that you can't use it BUT why the heck did they NOT put some type of switch to easily disconnect/turn off the USB connection. The only way to do it is to physically disconnect the USB cable. It's a pain. Other than that, the sound is nice. The unit looks very nicely built.

5 of 5 Great Speakers, Great Price Friday, January 04, 2008
    Donna Boswell from Cypress, California
I just received this product, and I am blown away by how nice the sound is, and how easy it was to set up and use, especially considering the price I paid. I've always been a fan of Altec Lansing, so it's no surprise that these are amazing. Couple it with the fact that there are so few Zune dock's on the market, and it's a win win situation! Super fast shipping! I'd recommend the M604 for everyone that has a Zune!

5 of 5 Good sound, great quality Friday, January 04, 2008
    Joel from Ames, IA
The Altec Lansing M604 has been a great purchase - so good, in fact, that I ordered two! It is perfect for an office or a small room, providing surprisingly warm sound with good aesthetics and great ease-of-use. With limited Zune docking speakers available, the M604 is a great option. The remote is functional, not exceptional. The speaker controls are useful, with both bass and treble controls. The unit's additional line-in port is helpful, too, so another device can be played through the speakers. All in all, this has been a wonderful purchase. I highly recommend it!

    5 of 5 Quite pleased Thursday, January 03, 2008
    OldTooly from Kansas City Mo.
You will not regret this purchase. It sounds very good and has true full range response without the clutter of wires and subs etc. Sure it has limited separation of the speakers so it is not a wide sound field, but for my bench at work or my desk at home it is superior to most of the units I have listened to. I use it with a Sansa E250 and the little remote, though no use for Sansa control, allows volume and tone controls. It is actually manufactured by Plantronics and is a quality unit throughout. Do not confuse this unit with the Sansa player model which runs on A/C or batteries. This thing has a true 60watt RMS amp that holds up good at quite high volume settings. Don't expect room thumping bass from the 2 LF speakers, but you will get a good balanced sound. The crossover area is smooth and the silk tweeters do not sound harsh or too "crispy" as many small units do. Vocals are natural and high frequncy is clear and brite. One thing, which few will take the time to do, is to encode your music with SRS or Sonic Holography and amaze yourself with the extra width of sound field. I did a few files that way and it was astounding, but it is not practical when loading 1,000's of songs on your player. A coworker was so amazed he went out and bought one the next day. I also was quite pleased with it's ability to reproduce even lower quality rips, at 128 CBR on LAME 3.84, an older version, but full quality 320 CBR's add that extra spatial content that make those little silk tweeters glow. I hope this helps you in your decision.

    5 of 5 Great Product Wednesday, January 02, 2008
    A Customer from Huntsville, AL
I bought this for my wife to go along with her new Zune for Christmas. I wanted something that sounded good, was portable, and had to be easy to use. This product satisfied all three, plus the price here offers great value, almost half the cost of the competitors. This sounds very good for the size, as good as a stereo "boom box" or computer speakers with comparable size drivers. I did not notice any distortion other reviewers heard, probably because they were playing the volume at the highest levels.

    5 of 5 M604 Wednesday, January 02, 2008
    A Customer from central Ohio
The first M604 I bought was for my 33 yr old son. He loved the charging ability of this nicely designed unit. Then the granddaughter saw it. Ordered another and got fast delivery and one happy girl. Oops grandsons birthday in Jan. got to get another one. Perfect price from Buy.com to make all my love ones happy. They are all very please with the unit stating that the design goes with all decors and they all love the charging ability of the speaker system. If you have a Zune I highly recommend this product. Buying anything from Buy.com is a wonderful experience!

5 of 5 Fantastic deal for a good product Monday, December 31, 2007

I purchased a unit for about $50 and it's the best deal around - no one else comes close to this price. Works as promised - I have it in my work den and the sound is quite good for a small unit. There's absolutely nothing complicated about it, just plug the Zune in to the holder or connect another source thru the aux. port. I have my computer audio attached to it so when I'm not listening to the Zune I can get TV sound thru my computer's TV tuner or listen to my collection stored on the computer.

5 of 5 EXCELLENT for price Monday, December 31, 2007

This is a great deal. It charges Zune. Remote works fine! Quick hook-up. Like others have said, good addition for bedroom, exercise room, kitchen, etc... I love this system, and for the price, it is a purchase for the zune that is a no-brainer.

5 of 5 Nice sound at bargin price Monday, December 31, 2007
    A Customer from Jacksonville, FL
The speaker sets up easy, drop in the Zune and your ready to rock and roll. The sound is very clear, nice bass and treble, and the remote works well from across the room. The only hassel is that I can't seem to figure out how to shut off my Zune while docked with the speaker. I can shut off the speaker, but the Zune just keeps on playing. I have to pull the Zune out of the dock, then power it off, and put it back in the speaker dock. When you try to power off the Zune while docked, it just sort of ignors you and keeps on playing.

    5 of 5 Excellent stuff! Monday, December 31, 2007

Was skeptical about buying this for my Zune. Already had speakers although the Zune can't connect to them (for my old Creative mp3 player), but I figured why not for about $50. Excellent buy. Great sound quality, Zune docks and recharges right in the speakers, and very easy to set up and use. My only gripe is that I'm having trouble watching my videos on the tv via the speakers, but it's more of a cable issue than the speakers themselves. No regrets in buying this, especially for the price! Excellent for the Zune.

5 of 5 Excellent Value for Zune Owners Monday, December 31, 2007
    Fred from Mead, Colorado
I purchased the M604 Speaker from Buy.Com for my Zune (white 30GB) model. I have not experienced any of the issues other people have mentioned about plugging and unplugging the Zune while the speakers were on. I think that was a firmware problem and I'm at v2.3. For under $50 - it's a hands down no-brainer if you have a Zune. It's well made, heavy, and certainly worth more than the $50 Buy.Com is selling them for. While not an audiophile speaker system, this does compare favorably to most $100 to $200 bookshelf speaker systems. It's a nice addition to a workout room or small bedroom. It would work fine for a college dorm room. It's great for charging the Zune and the remote works fine for skipping through song lists. You can also adjust the volume, treble, and bass. I think it's much nicer to use this speaker than to use the earphones provided with the Zune.

3 of 5 Great speaker needs better remote Monday, December 31, 2007
    Ben from Norcross, GA
This device is almost perfect. The sound quality is great and if you're looking for a speaker accessory for the Zune, this is the best bang for your buck. You really can't beat it. The major drawback of this product is the limited functionality of the remote. Even though I like being able to control Bass and Treble with the remote, the only features of the Zune that you can control are: Play/Pause, Forward Seek, Reverse Seek. Not being able to navigate through your Zune really limits the functionality of this product. If you're looking to hook up your Zune to your stereo with output to your TV, I recommend the Zune Home AV Kit ($25 on Buy.com right now), because the included remote allows you to control the entire Zune interface. The Altec Lansing remote only lets you navigate forward and reverse through the now playing list, as well as play/pause. Pros: - Great Sound< - Easy Zune Docking - Great Value - Bass and Treble Controls Cons: - Lack of navigation controls on Remote
