Let me start by saying that this is the first Altec Lansing product that I have not been thrilled with. I am VERY happy with all of my other AL products. That being said, this earbud design seems like a great idea but fails to deliver. No matter how much I adjust it, I cannot get it to fit my ear. As a result, sound quality and comfort are poor. I am 6', so I tried them in my girlfriend's ear (she's 5'2") and the fit was just as poor. My initial guess is that the foam is too stiff, thus not allowing it to submerge and conform to the ear canal. Since they don't work for anyone I know, they will likely be thrown away. :-(

Sound is OK, but it does not fit my ears! However, comparing to the price, I would like to say...it's just OK.(I bought for $7.59 w/ free shipping)

I snagged these during a sale, so the price was great. Shipping was fast (Thanks Buy.com!). The earbuds are aesthetically unattractive, and very large. I have a hard time trying to find a way to get them to stay in my ears because of the size of the buds. My ears are average-sized for a woman, I guess. However, they sound better than the buds that came with my Creative Zen. The sound is "fuller". If these buds fit you, they may be better than the stock earbuds of some radios/mp3 players.

They don't fit in my ear. Sound quality is horrible. I tried and when i got it to stay, I could still hear outside noise. They suck. Save your money and time and pay a little extra for a better pair.

Good sound, but does not play loud enough from my rio forge. These are extremely comfortable, however my left ear is larger than my right, and this one falls out repeatedly. Great cord. It is made of Kevlar or some other tough stuff. These are great phones if you have the right size ear and a player with power.

These earphones have great potential, good brand name, cloth cord, memory foam pads. However, the pads do not fit well, even being foam, and the sound quality is disappointing. You get what you pay for, and these are cheap in price and performance. Save your money.

I gave them a 4 for Ease of Use because they are a little tricky to get into your ear. They are comfortable though. I gave them a 2 for performance because the volume level of these headphones is terrible. I had to turn up the volume to 90% just for normal listening levels, and 100% doesn't do much more. I tried these on 2 different MP3 players and my laptop with the same results. I also purchased 2 of these, and they both perform the same, so I didn't get a dud. I gave the overall satisfaction a 1 because these are useless. The battery will drain significantly faster with the volume levels and they are just annoying to use.

I ordered 2 pair of these, the other for my grand-daughter. She says they are comfortable, and uses them for her ipod, ps3, and her creative zen. I on the other hand, have had them fall out of my ears, or having to shove them in only to have them fall out eventually.

I know a lot of folks have said negative things about these earphones, but I like them! They fit my ear perfectly and provide nice clear sound. They may not provide high end fidelity, but that was not my goal in my particular case. I use them for my cross-trainer workouts at the Y. They never fall out, are very comfortable, and work fine. Sure, they don't block or neutralize all outside noise, but that is not their intent. No problems and totally satisfied with the purchase.

The ear bud is too big, it always falls off my ear. With the other brand headphone, I can hear songs with low volume. But for this pair of headphone, even though I turn up volume very high, and still barely hear songs.

I bought this in cheap deal. Eventhough It looks not that as we saw in pic, but it gave an good sound quality. It does not fit as comfortable also.

These are very good earphones. Their sound quality is good so far esp. for their price. However, for ppl with small ears like mine, may have difficulty. It takes time to get used to it and only if the foam thing was a bit smaller, it would have been great.

Pretty good sound from these headphones made by Altec Lansing/Plantronics. But in order to hear the sound they have to be positioned just right or the sound is lost. Overall I'd say just stick to a good pair of earbuds.

I bought these as a replacement for Sansa earbuds. The covering was very thin, probably appropriately, but very fragile also. The covering tore while being applied the first time. The earbuds are too large for my ear. The earphones went directly from the packaging to the wastebasket. Not worth the time to return.

I don't resent buy.com for selling this product, but I just want to say that it's a piece of crap of an earphone. Audio quality is worse than the one that came with my ipod (which I want to buy to replace). Save yourself money and pay more (lots) for what your future enjoyment. What you pay is what you'll get.

I purchase these earbuds thinking that it would sound better than my original iPod white ones. After trying the Altec Lansing on they sound like a faint concert hall (really bad echo) the whole time for every song regardless if your playing rap or pop. They do not fit in my ear even after taking off the soft foamy (contoured) shape the manufacturer claims they are comfortable. Don't believe them! I threw my Altec Lansing earbuds away after listening to them for less than 10 mminutes because I couldn't stand the faint echo sounds coming from this trash. DO NOT BUY THIS TRASH!

I have generally found Altec Lansing products to perform very well. Like others I found that these earbuds do not feel secure in my ears. The sound is not adequate either, but I think that is caused by the design of the foam pads which hold the sound source so far away from the ear canal. They actually seem to be standard design earbuds with big pads affixed. If you peeled the pads off and replaced them with regular foam earbud covers they would probably work well. I did not find that the foam pads provided any sound isolation at all. My go to for inexpensive sound isolators are Plugs or Spark Plugs from Koss which work almost as well as active noise reducing headphones and cost only about $15 with great sound.

I purchased these the other day for less than $20, I'm happy I did. The rate at which I go through headsets because of the wires breaking, is so high I needed a spare pair. Great value. Could use more bass.

I gave these a shot since they were so cheap... but they're not even good for the money at $5 or whatever it is I paid for them. The fit and sound quality are abysmal... I'd return them but it's not worth the time and effort.

I've been more than satisfied with Altec Lansing desktop speakers, so it is particularly disappointing to experience the fit, sound, and engineering shortcomings of this product. At the time of my purchase, there were very few reviews available; the phenomenal jump in Buy.com sales rank and the polished look of the Altec Lansing web page suggested far more than this product delivered. These earphones are inferior to the stock earphones that came with my Creative Zen V Plus MP3 player.

These earphones are really comfortable - if you're MR. SPOCK or maybe Alfred E. Newman. Who knows if they sound any good - you'd have to be able to get them in your ears to find out.

I bought these to replace the round earbuds that came with the Phillips MP3-CD Expanium. These are supperior in earfitting design and tangle-free cloth cords, and appear to be very well made. However, they lack the brilliance and clarity in sound of the Phillips. The sound seems to be on a par with the other earbuds and earphones that I have tried --- good but not exceptional. Overall, a good value for the money.

For the life of me, I really don't know who's ears these and others like them are supposed to fit. I tried to use the alternate silicone covers that came with them, but the foam was stuck to the phones and had to be scraped off before I could put them on. Obviously sitting in a hot warehouse for some time. For the sound, it's hard to quantify because I can't get a good fit in my ear. But the price was right so I gave them a shot. I'll stick with my Fuji's

These absolutely do not fit human ears! The funky foam earpads don't fit, don't stay in, and even look kind of wierd. They are very directional andif they aren't placed PRECISELY at a certain angle in your ear you can hardly hear the sound and it becomes very muddled. On the upside, on the rare occasion that I get lucky and manage to position them correctly the sound is great and rivals my Etymotics... but of course after about 30 seconds of bliss, the poor-fitting earpads will fall out or move around and then it's back to the drawing board again. =( Overall a very poorly designed product from what's normally a good company.

For years the reputation of Plantronics and Altec Lansing has remained a hallmark of quality. You can forget it this time. This headset has such poor performance and quality that I put it in the garbage. I don't know what the problem is, but if I owned this company I would never put my name on such junk. I know this was cheap, but it certainly was no bargain. You can buy any headset out there and it will be better than this. I would have rated these a "0"...Save your money!

For A.Lansing to put there name on these astonishes me, the sound is beyond horrible ,not to mention the fit. I bought these to replace a pair of Phillips Surround buds I accidentally sheared ,not even close in sound quality or volume . A,Lansing usually makes quality products ...not so, with this one . The only thing I like about these is the durable cloth cord.

Earbuds have good sound only if they fit your ears perfectly. I have to push the top part of the earbud to get decent bass; not very convenient to have to hold them against my ears all the time.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago. I have really enjoyed them. I use them with my Palm 755 as well as with my Ipod. As I read the other reviews, I wondered if perhaps there were different ones or defective ones. Mine work great the sound is good, they fit very well in my ears, and I do have small ears. I have problems wearing other head phones, but the others just did not fit well. These have a snug fit that I like. Ok perhaps the sound is not the greatest but it is not bad at all. At the price I paid they were worth every penny.

This is an average earphone. there are better earphones available in the market. So I suggest you to check on some other earphones before selecting this one. The sound is not as i have expected by an Altec Lansing earphones. also it never fits in the ears properly.So you cant listen proper sound.

This item is a value buy but doesn't prove to be much of use. The ear piece doesn't fit well into my ears and there was not much noise isolation. Stay away from it.

These look good, but looks can be deceiving. They do not fit in the ear real good and certainly do not seal out external sound very well. They are comfortable but a little awkward to get in to the ears. The sound is not bad - might even be good if the earpiece fit in the ear better. Overall I would pass on these. As usual, the shipping was super fast and the price at Buy.com was right on.

Although the image looks like the foam around the headphones is a memory foam or soft foam, it is not. It is an amorphous, rough, and not easily shaped form, which does not conform to your ear shape. The tip of the head phones does not fit easily into your ear either, so a lot of background noise is filtered through. And as many other reviewers have stated, the sound quality on these headphones is not at all good. If it weren't because they were only $10, I would waste my time returning them.

I should have read reviews before I bought this item. They do not fit in the ear very well. I thought with them having the memory foam, that they would conform to the ear well. But it disappoints as the ear bud itself is hard and is impossible to fit in the ear. I understand you cannot return ear phones so I am stuck with it.

It looks wierd but goes kinda well in your ears. Its NOT a good alternative for iPod stock headphones, go for Sony $25 in-ear headphones instead. Although it comes with alternative rubber earbuds but I still am confused how to use it. Its okay cuz u get a little pouch too :P

I cannot get these to stay in my ears, the sound is crap, at best. the only way I can get a good sound is to push them in with my fingers, not much good when I am running!

My ears are jacked.. from years of corded and bluetooth headsets my right ear has been stretched like no other. So while the non-jacked ear enjoyed a snug fit.. the wider one.. not so much. Other than that.. great sound.. killer price... what else is there to say
